“What you see is what you get, our stay to celebrate my mother's 90th Birthday was great!”

The visit was experienced by 6 people aged 24 years old to 90 years old. Lots of space in and around the lodge to eat together, play board games or have a dip in the hot tub.

“We loved the lodge and felt at home straightaway.”

It’s got everything you need facility-wise and has a great layout. The lodge was clean and I liked the walk in shower. The welcome pack was much appreciated and a nice touch. The hot tub was in a nice private area (other lodges we have been to they are much less private). We also thought it was in a great location within the park. A perfect base to explore Northumberland. Will definitely be back.

“For the third time as this site is totally rubbish.”

We had an 89 year old guest with us so bear that in mind. The front door key was so hard to turn we thought it would snap each time we used it, the kettle lid was broken and came off while pouring water, the oven was too dirty to use, one room door was jammed by the carpet so could not open past a quarter, there was food down the sofa cushions, the windows were dirty, the bathroom pop up was broken, the bathroom tap was worn so it was hard to turn the shower leaked from hose, Oh and the water and power went off on Thursday at about 5am and was off until about 1pm so that was great All in all the cabin looked good hot tub was good but the place is a bit tired and in need of a bit refurbishment and a good clean.

Hi Margaret, Thank you for your comments. We are surprised bearing in mind the excellent feedback that we have from previous, recent guests. The kettle is not broken, but the lid does need to be replaced with the arrows lining up for the internal filter. The windows are cleaned every change over. The cabin is in the middle of a wooded area, which is part of its charm, the pine tree pollen does settle on the cabin and the exterior of the windows, however they are cleaned weekly. We will check the stiff door key, but have had no previous issues. We stayed there ourselves very recently and the key was working fine. A brand new carpet has just been laid. We will check the door movement and rectify this if there is an issue. There is an on site management team to look after the properly. I believe that Mel saw you most days and none of these issues were mentioned. The number is also listed in the welcome pack, but no contact was made during your stay. As you can see from past reviews, the cleanliness of the cabin has been praised. The water on site is powered by electric. I understand that there was a national grid power cut in all of the surrounding area, effecting the whole site and nearby towns including Felton. Unfortunately, this is out of our control. As the owners, we check the cabin regularly and the cleaners always do a great job. We will of course let them know of your comments though. Many thanks Andrew Property Owner

“We had an issue with the hot tub at the beginning of the holiday which was sorted promptly.”

Lovely, very spacious lodge, one of the largest we've stayed in. Well furnished throughout. Warm and comfortable for a family of 5 plus a baby, (although we realised that 1 bathroom is not enough! ) The reason for only giving 5 stars is the parks position next to the very busy A1. Although well situated for visiting Alnwick and Morpeth in particular, it was a nightmare driving out of the park. The lodge is also at the front of the park, so there is a constant drone of traffic, which did spoil our enjoyment of the outside space to a degree.

“Very spacious, lovely log cabin ,good central location for exploring Northumberland.”

Hot tub was brilliant and enjoyed by all.the kitchen was well equipped, a bread Knife and grater would be a useful addition. The welcome pack was lovely, thank you. For my personal preference the king-size bed was too hard ,but I know you can't please everyone. The others said their beds were comfy. An observation and definitely not a criticism as the cleaners do a wonderful job, but when it's night time and you put bedside lamps on, the cobwebs on the logs above the bed are illuminated! So a brush down of them is needed. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend

“We are a family of five with kids aged 8, 5 & 2.”

We stayed for 4 nights mid week in May. Welcome Hjem exceeded our expectations. It was really comfortable and had everything we needed. We loved the hot tub and were relieved to find that there was an enclosed area around the cabin so we could enjoy a soak while the kids ran wild. Its proximity to the A1 made it a great base for exploring Northumberland. We would definitely book again.

“Beautiful lodge in a great setting.”

All the necessary equipment to make it home from home. Lodge very clean and warm. Only one small negative point was the mattress on the double bed was hard and uncomfortable (can’t please everyone) resulting in a poor sleep but this did not detract from the overall very positive and enjoyable stay! Would definitely return

Welcome Hjem Log Cabin is a detached, Finnish log cabin settled on the Felmoor Park in the heart of the Northumberland countryside.

Boasting a decked veranda with hot tub and furniture, plus a spacious interior, Log Cabin is a wonderful escape for a family of six and two dogs, providing a heart-warming base in Northumberland.

The open-plan living space is the social hub of the home; gather on the sofas and chat about the day’s activities or move into the kitchen and start preparing a hearty dish, assisted by a range of appliances.

In the middle of the room stands the dining table where you can toast to a rugged escape over a home-cooked dish.

The delightful village of Felton is set in rural Northumberland, between Morpeth to the south and Alnwick to the north.
