“The Nest was excellent accommodation the only minor point was the bed which sadly was not comfortable after 7 nights.”

However we would love to return. It was spacious, bright and airy and spotless. The Nest is in an excellent position in Beadnell which made for a very relaxing holiday . The flowers, milk and shortbread were a lovely welcoming touch. I would highly recommend.

“We had problems 3 days into our holiday.”

Next door were doing building works, grinding out morter courses to repoint the joints. The noise and dust was extreme, our home owners apologized, but said they had no control over their neighbors actions. We have since found out that the owners of our house, also own the offending property. So much for honesty, there only interest was money, with no concern for the holiday makers happiness!

“The accommodation was ideal.”

First impressions were excellent and confirmed during our stay. The 'Nest is perfectly placed for walking and touring the Northumberland coast. A lot of effort has obviously been made by the owners to make everything comfortable for our stay and the kitchen was well equipped. After a day walking (and enjoying the nearby hostelries during the evenings), it was lovely to have a very comfortable night's sleep. No hesitation in hopefully staying at the 'Nest' in the future.

“The nest has gorgeous newly extended downstairs which is comfortable to sit in… you can look out through patio doors onto the garden and watch the horses in the paddock beyond, just don’t feed them… The kitchen is well appointed and has everything you need for a family of 4 including a small dishwasher (because who really likes washing up).”

The upstairs is small but fine for a couple and light and airy. The location couldn’t be better, you can easily walk to the beautiful sandy beach within 10 minutes and Beadnell village centre is 5 minutes in the opposite direction, with an array of eateries and pubs… it won’t be the last time we stay in Beadnell.

it has a lovely garden at the rear, accessed easily through amazing patio doors. The whole downstairs is stunningly beautiful and well-equipped. We were welcomed with milk in the fridge, chocolate biscuits and a bunch of roses. very special.

“The Nest is great and in the perfect location for visiting everything from castles, to boat trips from Seahouses, and lovely walks.”

We also used the bus service which was nice to be able to leave the car. ( check the times on the actual bus stop ) there are very nice places to eat out as well, and a good general store selling a good range of items. The house is excellent very comfortable and spotlessly clean, we were lucky with the weather and it was nice to sit out in the garden overlooking the field, as it gets dark look out for the bats. We had a wonderful week and look forward to visiting again.

“Stayed at the Nest as a family of four and the location for us was perfect to explore Northumberland as well as close to all the amenities in Beadnell.”

5 minute walk to the playground, 5 minutes to the pubs, 5 minutes to the pebble beach which is great for dog walking or crabbing. Around a 10 minute walk to Beadnell bay. Living space was fine as a family of 4 with young children (might be a bit small for older children). Garden was great over looking the horse's field. Only downsides being no dishwasher (but doesn't say this is provided in details anyway) and a bit of dusting was required.

Very comfortable and clean , fresh and modern decoration. Everything we needed provided. Great position near to the coast and easy access to main routes. Lots of excellent attractions nearby. The coast is stunning here and has the best beaches and walks. Pub, cafe, small shop and fish and chip van in the village but only a couple of miles to Seahouses with many more facilities. Useful bus service. What more could you ask for?

“The property is excellent for a week.”

We (a couple) found the decor really cheerful, warm, welcoming and friendly, and the kitchen equipment and shower very good. The car space would begin to feel cramped after a fortnight. The location is an excellent centre for coast based touring (we also got to Alnwick and Cragside). The only negatives to our stay were outside the control of the property; the neighbour in the other half of the semi smoked outside and the smoke came in through the garden window so we had to close it; and once or twice their loud talking kept us awake till gone midnight. (The only maintenance item we noticed was the shaver socket in the bathroom cabinet, which we couldn't make work.)

There was a vase full of fresh cut roses on the table when we arrived as well as much appreciated tea, coffee, milk and biscuits to revive us after a long journey. The house is ideally situated for strolling along the nearby beach and for visiting the many interesting attractions in the surrounding area. We have no hesitation in recommending “The Nest” .

“The property is in a cul de sac so very quiet; it is full of other rental properties and holiday lets.”

It is walking distance to the beach and it had everything that is needed for a short stay; the garden was well kept too and the location is good to visit the coast. It could have been cleaner as there was dust around etc. and the kitchen pans could be replaced.

“A fabulous base for exploring, with the owner offering a friendly warm welcome to Beadnell.”

It’s clear lots of thought has gone into ensuring The Nest has everything required; we had everything we could have needed during our stay. A very short walk to the beach and only 1 minute drive from the beautiful coastal road, The Nest is in a great location. The description of the cottage is very accurate and honest, the second room is more suited to children (or one adult) and provides comfy beds for them. There is more than enough available storage in this cottage, meaning we were able to unpack and feel settled immediately. We really enjoyed our 4 nights here, enhanced even further by the lovely little garden and the neighbouring horses coming to say hello.

The property

Situated in the lovely harbour town of Beadnell in Northumberland, is this charming property, The Nest.

A great family cottage, this cosy and comfortable semi-detached is less than half a mile away from the dunes and golden sand of the beach at Beadnell Bay, as well as a host of amenities for added convenience.

Well decorated and furnished throughout, you will find a charming living/dining room with choice of seating around the TV and a dining table for the whole family to enjoy home-cooked meals together, lovingly prepared in the well-equipped and spacious kitchen.

There are two bedrooms, a double and a bunk room, ideal for children, while the bathroom with walk-in shower completes the layout.

Outside is off-road parking for one car and an enclosed rear garden with a lawn and patio area with furniture, meaning the children can play safely and you can all dine alfresco on a sunny day.

There are several fabulous links golf courses and opportunities for watersports and sea fishing close by, while the vibrant fishing village of Seahouses is in easy reach, as is the historic market town of Alnwick, with its magnificent Norman castle and gardens.

The Nest is an idyllic Beadnell cottage to base a relaxing beach holiday or for exploring further afield on Northumberland's magnificent Heritage Coast.

BEADNELL

Seahouses 1.5 miles; Bamburgh 5 miles.

This attractive and peaceful harbour village is situated beside one of the most beautiful stretches of Northumberland’s Heritage Coastline - Beadnell Bay. Established in Saxon times, Beadnell was once an important fishing village and a smuggler's haven. Nowadays, it is still a fishing village, but is equally popular with holidaymakers who come to enjoy its pretty harbour and, of course, the nearby sandy beaches. The village has a shop, two pubs and a café serving food. Popular Seahouses is just over a mile away and has shops, a supermarket and restaurants, and it also offers boat trips from the harbour to the magnificent Farne Islands - a haven for bird watchers. Bamburgh is close by, whilst the market town of Alnwick with its Castle and Gardens, shops, pubs and restaurants is a short drive away.
