“Having stayed at North Farm previously in a bungalow (with hot tub), Mill View feels somewhat of a let down.”
It’s a small apartment - functional, everything you need for a short break but not spacious at all. The dining table felt small with just the three of us using it.
The king size bed mattress is incredibly firm I woke feeling very achy, my husband has spinal stenosis and didn’t sleep well at all.
Bedroom curtains are just single layer so come 4.45am it was day light in the room (ok if you’re not a light sleeper).
Being an apartment there was a lot of noise from the ‘neighbours’ above and with an autistic child this was an issue. Saturday morning we were woken at 6.15am by a horrendous noise (possibly an industrial generator) I literally jumped out bed as wasn’t expecting it - maybe something to do with the pool?
Also people coming and going into the swimming pool having to leave their shoes in the entrance hall made the place feel cluttered. I felt safer in the bungalow at our previous stay knowing no one was able to just come and go from our property.
Positives - welcome pack (tea, coffee, milk, bread, orange juice, butter) all appreciated. Also there was washing up liquid, kitchen roll, cling film, kitchen roll & tin foil these are all extras that you don’t typically get when staying at a self catering accommodation.
Negatives - upstairs apartment, small living area, noisy, need better curtains.
Mill View is an apartment above a pool with a studio above so hustle and bustle is to be expected, probably more so in the school holidays, which is something that won’t change as we actually want to encourage family holidays at North Farm Cottages.
Also you expressed the noise from an autistic child next door, which I find these comments quite repulsive and certainly not acceptable.
Mill View is as secure as any other property on the site, it only has one front door which is lockable and very secure, there is no way any guests were able to come and go from Mill View as you claimed.
You have obviously not enjoyed your stay in the apartment it was not as spacious as you would have liked, however £418 for a 2-night stay in my opinion represents very good value.
Hopefully if you return to Northumberland you will find some spacious accommodation that won’t be at North Farm Cottages.
