The Haven

The Haven is a well appointed, high quality holiday home with excellent facilities in a quiet location on a superb coastline.

The village of Embleton has two pubs, a farm shop and a super nature reserve close by. The only minor gripe we could have is some need for a blind for the bathroom window. That said- and we don't say this often- we would happily return.

A very comfortable, welcoming property which was spotlessly clean on arrival. Superbly equipped kitchen with everything you need. Lovely village with a great farm shop & pub. Amazing walks to be had along the coast. Super visit to the Farne Islands. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Definitely a beautiful holiday accommodation.

We would certainly return to this property.

The owners of the Haven go above and beyond to make visitors feel welcome.

They think of everything. We had small children in our party and they loved the beach toys in the garage for example. There were lots of other really thoughtful touches, such as a slow cooker and a protective mat for under the high chair. The owners also very kindly returned a toy we had left behind. We hope to be back soon.

The Haven was everything we could of wanted its location was great and the property was very well appointed and maintained.

It was very clean on arrival & was extremely well equipped, a definite Home from Home & very comfortable. Embleton is a lovely, quiet village with ample facilities in the Hotel, pub, garage, golf course & village farm shop & daily buses. Beautiful walks from The Haven along the coast to Dunstanburgh Castle or towards Low Newton - The Ship is definitely worth a visit The Haven is one of the nicest places we've ever stayed *****

Another wonderful stay at “The Haven”.

This accommodation never fails to impress. This is our third stay here and it is always very clean and extremely comfortable, it has everything you need from a fully equipped kitchen to DVD’s and games. The location is a lovely quiet village with a very well stocked village shop, a couple of pubs and a golf club which is open to the public. It is also a perfect location for exploring the beautiful Northumberland coast as well as numerous castles. I cannot recommend this cottage enough, I will be returning.

Everything you need is provided to make your stay enjoyable, plus a lovely welcome pack. Easy to get to different places along the coast and inland. Would highly recommend this property (this being our second stay here).

Had a lovely week at the Haven, Embleton.

The bungalow was modern, very clean and had comfy beds. Everything you could need was provided. Nice back garden with outdoor table and chairs and sunshade. The village is small and very quiet but within easy reach of all facilities We hope to return in the future

Superb accommodation, very well furnished with things needed for a stay - very much a home from home.

The bungalow is very well situated to explore the locality both near and far - there is a mainline station approx. 15 minutes drive away and we went to Edinburgh for one of our days out. I am happy to give this venue the highest recommendation.

This is a great house.

It has everything you need for a very comfortable holiday. It was exactly as described on line. The house is ideally situated for travelling around Northumberland. Village has basic supplies in the village farm shop or in the Petrol station/garage.This is probably the quietest street we have ever lived in. Very relaxing holiday yet busy enough to explore Northumberland again.

Beautifully furnished and stocked with every essential you could think of. So cozy and comfortable, a perfect place to relax. Situated in the gorgeous village of embleton and central to many lovely walks. We will definitely be going back.

This was our 2nd stay at The Haven and it didn’t disappoint.

The accommodation is first rate, it is extremely clean and the hosts have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The location is perfect for exploring the beautiful Northumberland coast and is within walking distance of the stunning Embleton Bay. The village is lovely and has a good farm shop/post office , petrol station a golf club which is open to the public and some nice pubs. We are hoping to return and would love to stay at The Haven again.

Made for a very comfortable holiday in a location that is an excellent base for exploring Northumberland.

Another fantastic stay at The Haven (Embleton).

The property is spotlessly clean & has everything you need from the well equipped kitchen, lovely bedding, towels & furniture. Also great off road parking. Embleton is a quiet village but has a lovely little shop & pub. The beach - which you can access via the golf course, is always quiet with walks over to either Dunstanburgh Castle, Craster or Low Newton-by-the-Sea. Ideal location for exploring Northumberland & the Scottish borders. Already booked for 2025.

The bungalow was beautifully presented.

It was clean and the welcome basket was a lovely surprise. The owners appear to have thought of everything that is needed to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Anyone looking for a property in this area really couldn’t do any better than this one. We would unhesitatingly book The Haven again.

This is a fantastic cottage to stay in - we love it so much that this was our third holiday at the property.

The property is very comfortable, comfy beds, nice linen and towels, well equipped kutchen with fridge freezer washing machine dishwasher oven microwave hob, plenty of pans crockery and utensils, a spacious lounge with lovely sofas, and dining table, sideboard with maps information leaflets and games.

Spotlessly clean and has everything you could need. Patio doors lead to a patio with table and chairs and a large grassed lawn. Very bright and welcoming. Owners easy to contact. Stunning beach wonderful location. I highly recommend this property and hope to return.

The cottage is in ideal location to explore the Northumberland area with so much to see and do on doorstep or in close vicinity.

The cottage was one of the most well equipped properties we have ever stayed in and the owners went above and beyond to assist us during our stay. The garden is a proper sun trap. Would highly recommend and look forward to visiting again in the future.

The bungalow property is absolutely fabulous and is in a great location.

The property is only 5 years old, and to us, it seemed like a new showhome! It has been tastefully furnished and the bedding, towels etc are top quality.The air source heat pump used for central heating is very effective so the house is nice and warm in the coldest of weather. It has a lovely private south facing rear garden which will come into its own in the summer months. Also, the property owners are very thoughtful and have made available all sorts of books, guides, games, DVDs etc to make your stay more pleasurable - as well as a rather nice welcome pack. We will definitely return to The Haven!

This is a relatively new build property, beautifully appointed and the kitchen was well stocked with a variety of pans and trays.

Lovely to see a property run so eco conscious with ASHP as alternative energy supply. Bedrooms of a good size and comfortable. One point to note that although this is on one floor it may not be appropriate for people with mobility issues - the bathrooms were gorgeous but there were no handles on the baths etc.

We have stayed in quite a few cottages now, but we all thought this was the one where we felt most at home.

It’s got everything you need, great location for exploring. Brilliant back garden for children to play in. Just perfect.

The Haven is a wonderful property in a fantastic location.

The Haven was spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable with quality furnishings. The owners left a really nice welcome pack which was much appreciated and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals and again all kitchen equipment was good quality and clean. The location was perfect for exploring the Northumberland coastline and the beach was within easy walking distance. We are hoping to book again for next year as 1 week was not long enough.

We thought that this was an outstanding property .

We were a little disappointed that we potentially couldn't gain access initially until 5pm but requested a text when we could gain entry and could do so after 3pm. Perhaps a similar offer could be made to others.

We really enjoyed our stay - it was like being at a friend’s property.

It was a good size, clean, well stocked and not littered with ‘must do’ instructions. There was private parking spaces for several cars. The Haven lived up to it’s name and was also well situated for touring Northumberland (and beyond).

An excellent warm, quiet and comfortable bungalow, which, to be honest, we could not fault.

The kitchen was very well equipped with utensils and crockery as if the owners expect visitors to cook at home regularly rather than eating out. The air flow heat pump surprised us by how efficient it was and whilst taking a little longer to heat up than a conventional system , achieved a comfortable heat throughout. There was good information about local places of interest, restaurants and services as well as about the household appliances. We would definitely think about returning next time we go back to Embleton.

Best holiday accommodation we’ve ever stayed in.

Everything was comfortable and the owners had thought of and met every need.

Even torches supplied if you decided to walk to the pub at night. As a ninety year old with some mobility problems I was anxious at first but I needn't have worried, it was great.

This is a fabulous home and we feel privileged to have stayed here.

The owners where so helpful and had thought of every extra we could have needed. The welcome pack was much appreciated and we found the house spotlessly clean and tidy. The location is ideal, peaceful and quiet yet only a stroll away from the pubs, shops and bus stop. All in all a lovely home and we would love to return.

Everything needed for a holiday in a fabulous location.

This must be the best holiday home we've ever stayed in, and we've stayed in some very nice ones.

It was like walking into a new home, spotlessly clean, superbly and comfortably furnished and equipped, bright and spacious and a pleasure to be in. The owners have given so much attention to small details, too. Maps and guide books, games and books, toiletries, everything you could need in the kitchen, large barbecue in the garden, children's beach toys etc etc. Embleton is a lovely little village to stay in, and just a short, easy walk - about 20 minutes - from the bungalow to Embleton Beach - a fantastic, scenic and sandy beach. There is a friendly local pub, and it's a great base for exploring other places, too. This is a great place to holiday in, lots to do and see, and we shall certainly return to The Haven!

It was a real home from home. The cottage is a short stroll from the village and then on from there to the beach. It’s in a central location for visiting all the beautiful places along the Northumberland coastline. We will definitely be back!

The Haven is in a great location for exploring the Northumbria coast.

The village is quiet but has a hotel and 2 other pubs, a village shop and post office. The accommodation is modern, extremely clean very comfortable and well equipped. There is also a patio with furniture if you are staying in the warmer weather, however we were not lucky enough to enjoy this time. But we will definitely be looking to book this property again as we were very impressed with it overall. A nice touch with the welcome basket which was appreciated.

Very comfortable, clean and peaceful holiday home.

The property had everything we needed for our break, The owners left an activity book for our daughter, which was a nice touch, and some biscuits and prosecco for the adults . The property was a short walk to a pub / shop. Embleton village had a children’s playground, which our 9 year old enjoyed. The beach, which was stunning , was about 1 mile away. Would recommend the property without hesitation.

Beautiful holiday cottage in a superb location.

Absolutely everything was thought of (even down to colouring books, stickers and colours for the kids!) and the loveliest welcome basket. Everything was pristine.

We love the Haven!

! It’s our second visit and it was as lovely, clean and bright as we remembered. We stayed for 2 weeks and it’s the perfect base in beautiful Embleton. Thoughtful welcome basket, well equipped kitchen, nice and clean bedrooms and in these strange Covid-19 times we were extra pleased to see hand gel, antiseptic sprays etc available in the house, we felt really well looked after. We’re 2 adults and 3 kids and highly recommend the Haven.

One of the best bungalows we have being to as soon as you enter the front door you can see how well the lay out is easy walk to the pub and shop hope to return and have a longer holiday only one thing we found that was the heating either it was on or off that's what we thought.

The bungalow was absolutely brilliant.

It was spotlessly clean. Everything you could possibly need, even an apron! Well positioned to explore Northumberland. Best holiday cottage I’ve ever stayed in. Lovely and warm too. Thank you for the use of the garage. My husband took his classic motorcycle and it was extremely useful to be able to park in the garage. Would recommend The Haven to anyone. In fact I already have!

The accommodation was perfect for us.

We wanted a property that could accommodate our family, and it did that in style and comfort. Three good size bedrooms, the main having its own en-suite and the lounge was big enough for all of us to be able to relax in the evening while watching television . The property was in a great spot in a lovely little village with a homely local pub and also a very nice hotel with a bar and a great menu - fish and chips highly recommended. The location also really convenient for visiting a number of the castles and towns. If we go back to this part of Northumberland in the future we would definitely choose this property again.

The Haven is an excellent, modern, well equipped property, extremely comfortable and spacious and located about 5 minutes walk from the centre of Embleton village.

The owner helpfully contacted us before our stay to enquire about any special requirements, including for our 15 month old grandchild and thoughtfully provided a new toy for him on our arrival. The lovely welcome pack was very much appreciated and showed the owner’s attention to detail. The use of the secure garage space was also useful for storing the pram, road bike etc. and the level, open space in the property and garden allowed our grandson to explore and practise his new walking skills in a very safe environment. And the sun shone all week. We had a wonderful time and will be visiting again.

We had a fabulous week at the Haven!

Lovely thoughtful welcome basket on arrival, clean and very comfortable accommodation, lots of board games and garden games for the kids to play with, and very well equipped kitchen. Location is brilliant, easy to walk to the beach/ playground, and only a short drive from Seahouses (great horseriding!) and several other gorgeous villages and beaches. Def 5 star and would highly recommend.

Great cottage on fabulous setting.

This has to be absolutely one of the best Northumbrian holiday homes we have stayed in: just a joy with everything thought of, extremely comfortable and exceedingly clean.

The Haven is very well positioned in the charming village of Embleton and close to the lovely coastal route with Warkworth, Dunstanburgh and Bamburgh castles nearby. Glorious beaches, quiet roads, numerous great eating places abound. However, if you prefer more ‘biz’ then Seahouses beckons with its amusement arcades, fish & chip shops and trips to the Farne Islands for bird & seal watching. Many National Trust properties to visit, should the weather be inclement and Morpeth and Newcastle close-by for retail therapy. The Haven is well-named and with three bedrooms and en-suite + family bathroom very suitable for parties of six, or equally good just for two. Can’t wait to return.

Immaculate cottage and well placed to see this area of Northumberland with the added benefit of a shop and 3 pubs/ restaurants within a 10minute walk.

A holiday house that felt more like a home.

Everything had been thought of, from night lights to cooking oil, board games to shampoo. The house had everything we needed and more!! A perfect location for exploring our favourite beaches and seaside villages. We will definitely book again.

The Haven is so aptly named.

The interior of the bungalow has real ‘wow’ factor - the decor and furnishings are of a very high standard and there is everything there for your comfort. It is so well equipped. The welcome in the information folder and the welcome pack of goodies made us feel immediately that the owners really wanted us to enjoy our break. The bungalow is in a great spot and is easy access to Alnwick, Craster and other lovely coastal spots. The village has a good hotel, five minutes up the road, that serves nice food if you don’t want to eat in or drive out to eat. The break was enhanced by observing a little owl that had taken up residence on a neighbouring roof - our own Autumn Watch. I would highly recommend this property.

Never been to this part of the world before and to have such a lovely place to stay is a bonus and we did enjoy the coast and castles as well as the friendly people, ten out of ten

Magnificent cottage!

Everything is clean and perfectly laid out. Great location, very close to Embleton beach which is just astonishingly beautiful. The owner was very helpful and thoughtful. Prepared toys for our kids in advance and posted my daughter's school books back to us which were left in the cottage. Highly recommend!
