Fabulous property which impresses from the moment you pull up outside.

Fully equipped, beautifully furnished, spacious and light. Bedrooms had incredibly comfortable beds, great showers /bathrooms and plenty of storage space. Downstairs both inside and out, it was cosy, comfortable and a wonderful place to relax. Winding wheel’s proximity to the beach is great and is the perfect morning dog walk location. Easy to walk from the door or access the wider areas in minutes.

Our second visit to this wonderful property we love it!

Opposite the sea with stunning views. Beautiful decor, comfy beds, great facilities and lovely and quiet day and night. Owners very contactable and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

This accommodation was great.

Really great location, really comfortable - our kids loved it. Lots of local amenities within driving distance too. The local beach was lovely and never too busy. The area was quiet and felt safe too. The loungers in the living room were a lovely bonus. (An aside that's not house related and is especially for people with young families - to help make an informed choice, it would be worth doing a check of the neighbouring pubs food hygiene rating before deciding to eat there.)

This property was a disappointment from the moment we arrived.

We opened the lounge doors on to the patio to find the skeletons of 2 very dead birds! Then we noticed paint peeling off the walls due to damp in the lounge. There was some of the crumbling paint on the floor which hadn’t been cleared up. The house generally was grubby, dusty and there was a stained carpet on the stairs. A broken loo seat in the downstairs loo completed our tour of downstairs. But much worse was to come upstairs! In the master bedroom, the bedding was covered in dog hair & you could write your name in the dirt on the windows. It was disgusting. It obviously hadn’t been properly cleaned for a long time. We went out to buy all new bedding to make it bearable but we left after 3 nights. It was not a nice place to be. Do not book!!!!

This property was a very welcoming and comfortable stay.

It had a well equipped kitchen and was a spacious property. With a beautiful beach 5 mins walk away which you could do the coastal path. We didnt get to try the pub next door as the doors was closed when we tried. The only negative point is tvs in all the room didnt work due to no signal. So not a big issue just to point to think about. We really enjoyed our stay.

This is a wonderful house, very spacious and comfortable.

The soft sandy beach is literally a few minutes walk. Plenty to do within a short drive. We would definitely recommend.

An excellent property located in a peaceful location by the sea, beach & all.

Great for my 2 year old grandson to play on the beach, and loved by my dog, with so much soace to run about. The property itself did not disappoint. A TV in everyroom, spacious livingroom, bedrooms and kitchen and more than adequate for our party of six adults, one child and dog. Ideally located to visit nearby towns, both coastal and inland. The northeast coastal beaches are plentiful and well kept. All in all, a first class accommodation and highly recommended.

Stunning seafront location.

Spacious, clean and well appointed accommodation with everything you need for it to feel like home from home. Easy access to Northumberland visitor attractions. We all loved it and a great welcome pack was very much appreciated. Would recommend the property without hesitation.

Winding Wheel cottage was a delightful holiday home.

So cosy and warm with great space. The enclosed front and rear gardens were so good for my two dogs. Was not expecting it to be decorated for Christmas so that was a joy. Along with the most super welcome hamper our stay here was terrific. My dogs particularly loved the beach and cliff top walks right opposite. Would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat .

Winding Wheel Cottage, what can I say?

Location: Literally a stones throw from the beach. Far enough from the hubub to be quiet but supermarkets within 10 minutes drive. Right next door to a pub and chippy, heaven. House itself: What an incredible property. Very large and well equipped kitchen diner, large comfortable sitting room, 2 double bedrooms and a single and the master bedroom is literally a suite in itself. Can't recommend this property highly enough, will definitely be back

WOW, what a fantastic cottage.

We were looking for a large comfortable cozy cottage by the sea and we found it. The location is wonderful, 2 minutes walk to the beach where both the kids and the dog loved. The cottage is super comfortable, extremely clean and well appointed. We had everything we needed for an excellent holiday.

This is a wonderful property.

We stayed in the Xmas break and it had the added benefit of being dressed beautifully for Xmas. We loved it so much that we rebooked whilst we were still away. That speaks for itself. It has everything you need, layout is well thought out and loads of space for everyone in the family to find there own space whilst still enjoying being together. The location of the property is over perfect for exploring Northumberland or just going for frequent works along the beach.

This is the second time we have stayed at Winding wheel cottage, we really like the cottage and area we found the cottage to be just as good this time as last time.

There was one small problem dealt with by Chris very quickly, thanks for that. We had a good stay in a comfortable place and a relaxing time.

This is an amazing property.

everything you could need is available. Space is a premium, modern and in a quiet location next to a superb beach. We have to say this one of our best properties used through Sykes. Would recommend for comfort and views. Enjoyed our stay and some great walks. The amazing welcome pack was also a bonus.

Really great place.

Lots of especially nice features in the house such as the deep set windows and the original stone work visible in some parts. The kitchen was very well appointed and had everything we needed for cooking (and baking). All the rooms were very nicely decorated with lots of nice finishing touches. The front and back garden areas were great too.. completely secure for the dogs (this can be difficult to find) It is in such a great spot too.. the dogs had a great time at the beach and the locals are really friendly. This is definitely the best holiday home I've rented so far. Has everything youd need :)

Love this house!

We have stayed in Blyth for several years and this is our favourite place yet, we booked again with two days of being there. It’s very large, very well equipped and clean. Close to the beach and dog friendly. We couldn’t fault it. Only thing I would add is some milk to the welcome pack, and a vegetable peeler for the kitchen. That’s it! Thank you.

We enjoyed our stay at Winding Wheel Cottage.

The cottage was spacious and the outdoor seating areas felt private, despite the close proximity of our neighbours. The kitchen was lovely and when we were not off sightseeing, we spent a lot of our time sitting round the table, eating and playing games. The beach was awesome and we had many enjoyable morning and evening walks.

A very spacious, luxurious and well-equipped property next to a lovely beach.

The house had everything we needed and more. The welcome pack provided by the owners was well received - thank you! Lovely and friendly neighbours. Walking straight out of the front door and on to the beach was great for the grand kids and dog who spent most of the time there and would definitely visit again. A fantastic week thoroughly enjoyed by the whole family, and highly recommend this property!

We had a brilliant time celebrating an 80th birthday.

The cottage exceeded expectations by being so much closer to the beach than we thought, pub next door and right on the England Pathway for lovely walks up and down the coast. After a long drive to get there we had some car free days by catching the bus round the corner. The cottage was lovely - great spaces to all be together or split off if we wanted. Would def book again.

So much to do nearby and very easy to get to and from the A1. We will definitely book again.

The property provides the wow factor both on arrival outside and entry.

Really well-appointed, we had absolutely everything we needed with a generous welcome pack, dishwasher and washing machine. Ideal for people with dogs as both the front and rear gardens are completely enclosed and the beach is just over the road. Northumberland is probably the best area we've visited in terms of dog-friendly beaches and attractions. If you love walking this is a great base and you can also easily access the Northumberland Coastal Path. The garden is a beautiful afternoon sun trap so whether you're looking to be out and about: Alnwick, Bamburgh, Lindisfarne, Seahouses and many more; or to just relax in beautiful surroundings, then we would highly recommend this cottage.

Absolutely lovely.

.all needs catered for. One brought a air fryer with us and didn't even need it as one was provided! Very spacious and in a perfect spot. We had a wonderful time and wouldn't hesitate to return. I do think that a surface cleaner and hand-wash would be useful and 2 tea towels rather than the one. Much appreciated and very thankful we got to experience this beautiful cottage

This is a beautiful, comfortable property in a great location opposite the beach.

Falling asleep to the sound of the surf was so relaxing. The welcome pack was really generous and there was everything, and more, we could have wanted for our stay. The area is really dog friendly and the beach dog walkers we met were very welcoming. Hard to drag ourselves away and we hope to return.

Lovely well equipped cottage, with a lovely log burner which kept us warm and cosy.

The welcome basket was a lovely touch, and was much appreciated. The close proximity to the beach and surrounding walks were ideal for the dogs. We had a lovely stay, and would recommend.

Absolutely fantastic cottage right by the sea and pub the house was huge and decorated lovely nice garden for the summer months They left a lovely filled welcome basket and towels which we were very grateful for as we forgot ours.

There where lots of little extras around the house which helped with our stay. If I had to nic pick at anything it would be a radio in kitchen and a rug in living room as floor was very cold , would definitely like to return Thanks

A beautiful well appointed cottage. We couldn't find any scisors in the kitchen, but that's just us being picky. The rooms are fantastic and the whole stay was when we went out we were glad to be back. Fabulous stay welcome packs, yes packs, all over if we can book it again we will be back. We were sorry to come home and leave sutch a nice cottage.

This was a wonderful cottage.

It was so clean and warm. The showers were amazing and the furnishings were so comfortable. It had almost everything we needed. The kitchen is missing tongs, a whisk, and scissors and ideally the knives need sharpening. Having the beach nearby was brilliant and even our arthritic Labrador reverted to puppyness - which was just a joy to see. Thank you so much x

The property met all our expectations and more.

The owners were exceptionally helpful and their property outstanding. It has everything you need to make your stay comfortable and instantly relaxing. The surrounding areas provide lovely areas to walk and lots of places to visit. We would highly recommend this property for a relaxing luxurious stay.

Excellent stay.

Everything you could possibly want is here. Short walk to the beach. Sunday lunch in Charlton’s next door, completely beaten by portion size. We were very comfortable at all times. Just to the left of the cottage is a hard surface part of the Coastal path which was perfect for walking dogs when tide was in. Eat at Turknaz in Whitley Bay. Excellent food and superb service. Loads to do in area. Visited Beamish, Alnwick Castle, Woodhorn Museum and Morpeth. All very Guide Dog puppy friendly he experienced lots of new things. Excellent holiday, highly recommended. House very warm and welcoming during some very inclement weather.

We had a lovely few days at the cottage.

It was very spacious and furnished to a high standard with everything you could need. We enjoyed the proximity to a fabulous beach for the dogs and also the Northumberland coastal path is nearby with lots of other pathways nearby for walking, running or cycling. It was a part of Northumberland we hadn't explored before but we would definitely return to the area and the house.

It was well appointed, extremely clean and very comfortable. The hosts have got to considerable trouble to make sure your stay is memorable.

Well equipped kitchen and just a homely feel. Great location with the beach on your doorstop. Wary of booking with Sykes Cottages as we have previously had a bad experience but I’m glad we did with this cottage.

Heating didn't seem to connect after 1st day. Dontbthink you should have to strip beds a holiday is a holiday. Great position for the beach

It was clean and comfortable throughout. Great location -the beach is directly across the road and the pub virtually next door served lovely food. An excellent base to explore the nearby coast, Alnwick, and further afield. Would definitely recommend and would like to return.

Lovely property with fantastic sea views.

The beach is fab for a walk with the dogs. Easy access to other parts of Northumberland and the pub next door serves fantastic food and is a good atmosphere. The property has everything you need for a holiday property including all cooking utensils etc and even an air fryer!! All in all a really fantastic property and we had a wonderful stay, would recommend.

We had a lovely holiday and the property is amazing.

You couldn't ask for more, spotlessly clean, comfy beds and sofa's, great bathrooms, and so well equipped. The location is perfect, lovely and quiet and a great beach opposite. Fantastic view's from the cottage and lot's of places to sit and relax outside. One of the best properties I have stayed in, can't wait to go back!.

Beautiful house.

Extremely comfortable and welcoming. Good place to start from to explore Northumberland. Love the fact that the beach was across the road. A clean sandy beach that goes in forever, the dogs were in there element. There was a very well stocked welcoming basket with alsorts if everything in it. A nice touch was when the owner made a quick visit to make sure we were ok and that we had found out how to work everything. A pub right next door, what more could you want.

Really lovely cottage.

It had everything we wanted, the beach on the doorstep, a pub next door and the accommodation was above anything we have stayed at before on Sykes. Every time we opened the door it felt warm and welcoming, if I could have picked it up and brought it home I would have. Chris was very welcoming and I would recommend getting your firewood from him.

We had an amazing weekend at winding wheel, it is beautifully furnished and had an overall cozy feel.

With 2 dogs, it is ideally located 2 minutes from the beach. The welcome pack was extremely generous and we loved the log burner. We will definitely back.

Perfect base to explore. Would certainly return but would request later checkout - 9am is too early!
