“Absolutely loved this house.”

Really warm and welcoming. Cooked most nights and had everything we needed, except a pair of scissors. Subtle christmas touches were appreciated. Hot tap in bathroom sink dripping and really hard to turn off. Toilet flush was a little tricky till you got the hang of it. The hosts were fab at communicating especially as we only booked on day of arrival. The dogs enjoyed the outdoor space on an evening.

Great cottage stopped here a couple of times,nice walk in to seahouses takes about 15 mins,cottage is nice and comfortable just a couple of minor issues that could be sorted easily, the flush on the toilet needs sorting, hot water tap in the bathroom needs attention, and a set of pans would be nice,other than that had a great stay

“The cottage was fine, we had a great time but this was sullied by a very rude call from the owner when we got back to complain about dog hairs and sand on the stairs.”

We left the cottage clean and tidy but no, we didn't hoover the stairs but it wasnt that bad, if it was i would have done it. If you are so offended by dog hair, don't allow dogs in the property. Post holiday buzz killed instantly in one very rude, aggressive and inappropriate phone call. Also, no washing machine in property.

“Our 4th year in the Dairy.”

As clean and well maintained as our first visit. Left alone, yet Louise is there to help at the end of a text if you need her! A big bonus is that there is always hot water when you need it. A small thing you may think, but makes a huge difference. The beach is just 10mins walk, and a fabulous beach it is too. Everything we needed.

“Faultless what more can I say.”

We will definitely be back soon. Just a short walk to the dog friendly beaches which the pooches loved. Plenty to do and see including boat trips on the harbour to see all the sea animals even the Orcas showed there face. Lindisfarne is beautiful check time of tides. All in all holiday to remember and a big thankyou to Louise who even had tea, coffee and milk for a nice cuppa on arrival after a long drive. The house lovely spacious and immaculately clean loved the corner bath for a nice soak after a long day. Can't recommend it enough just book it

“The suggestion to control heat in the rooms was not helped by the fact that some of the temperature controls on the radiators don't work.”

The one in the bedroom simply rotated round and round but we could not turn down the heat which we found opressive. We could not access many of the TV channels due to interference on screen. Finally I found the chairs and table in the kitchen totally uncomfortable due to the miniscule size. I'm only 6 feet tall but I felt like I was sitting at a primary school desk.

Mr Vaughan, thanks for highlighting the issues with the radiators. This is already in hand to repair. I sure you turned heating off or opened a window to cure problem of being too hot. I tried the TV and can find no channels that are unwatchable with interference, but I’ll put a note in cottage regarding how to use TV based on your comment. The only thing you wasn’t specified was the item that wasn’t clean resulting in the low cleaning score. I clean my cottages to a high standard that is generally appreciated. Please tell me what was below standard in the cleanliness area and I’ll be sure to correct for future guests. Welcome folder which was very informative about the house and local amenities. Liked the signs on the front door, beach left, shops right. Walk to beautiful beaches 10 mins, shops mins max. Seahouses is wonderful, very dog friendly and nice shops. Comprehensive co-op, butchers, bakers, wet fish monger plus lots more. Lots of nice details in cottage and very well equipped, heating excellent. We shall definitely be returning and already recommending. What a lovely holiday!

“Lovely cottage and fantastic location.”

Cottage is cosy and feels homely with all the soft furnishings and accessories. Plenty of storage space too. The only downside for me is the outside garden furniture in the balcony and back yard is old / dated and falling apart and this lets the property down as everything else is fitted to a good standard and thought out well so to make this 10 out of 10 I would suggest replacing this tired furniture and it would be perfect. Apart from that a lovely place and if we ever visit Northumberland again we would consider staying at Hastings Dairy.

“Simply but comfortably and attractivley furnised, well stocked kitchen with utensills.”

Tea bags, milk and biscuits provided on arrival. Comfy beds and sofas. Owner Louise came and said hello and checked all was okay. Gets the sun most of the day untill 6pm in the back and nice to sit out on the balcony also. You can park outside the cottage on the road or on the slope right by the house, we did get the car in the garage but very narrow and is an access route, possible to drive though into the yard. Seahouses itself is about a 10 min walk on the pavement and is very picturesque. Was actually nicer to be just outside the main area. Very enjoyable stay and would deffinitley go back

Clean had everything you need. There are a few improvements/maintenance that are needed: the shower hose leeks quite a bit, the front door is stiff to open and it's the first time I've stayed in a house without a washing machine. None of these took anything away from our Lovely stay. I would recommend Hastings dairy and would stay again.

Everywhere was immaculately clean. Unfortunately the cottage on arrival (4pm) was very cold, we had driven through a few flurries of snow and low temperatures so expected heating to be on. Although 3 shelves in master bedroom, a chest of drawers would have would have been better suited. Lack of storage for food provisions. Cottage states for 4 people but I feel it would seem overcrowded for 4 adults, thankfully just two of us. Balcony was great for the night skies. Seahouses is central for visiting beaches and villages along the coastal route....love this area.

, being modern, but in keeping with the house and the area. Patio and balcony caught the sun all day. Milk in the fridge and biscuits for a welcome cup of tea when we arrived. Perfectly situated for exploring the whole area. A bus stop right outside the door provided a prompt and regular service from Berwick to Alnwick stopping at all the coastal villages in between. Thank-you. We hope to stay again as there are so many things we still want to do in the area.

“The kitchen is very good and the local Co-Op well stocked.”

Portly customers might struggle to sit round the table. We knew there wasn’t a washing machine and came prepared, but unlike most Youth Hotels there’s no drying room. Stronger light bulbs on the landing and a re-located ‘doggy gate’ would improve safety (we 4 were between 59 & 86). Different coloured towels would be better. More supportive mattresses would have helped us ancient mortals. The viability of the property may change once the proposed yellow line parking is implemented as there isn’t enough paid parking half a mile away in Seahouses; we gather that zealous traffic wardens penalise pavement parking outside the cottage and only very small vehicles can be parked directly in front, although with significant skill we managed to park a Mini Cooper in the rear yard through the garage (which is off-bounds)

Bed was comfy and facilities were spot on. Lovely and warm, plenty of hot water. Back yard handy for first and last doggy tiddles. Nice pleasant walk for beach or shop, harbour and pub etc. Dog friendly pubs, plenty of take-aways. Had Indian from Spices, wasn’t very spicy, the other one is fantastic. Best chippy is Lewis’s. Ideal place to visit Holy Island, Bamburgh and Beadnell close by and other places further away. Hostess Louise keeps in touch, very friendly. Would definitely return.

“This cottage has the potential to be great, and is absolutely in a brilliant location.”

A few things: 1. The shower head is completely disgusting and needs sorting out immediately. The owner cannot claim ignorance of this as it is mentioned in the review book in the cottage. 2. Multiple blown light bulbs...a pet hate of mine...but really simple to check for. 3. You really need a washing machine... Otherwise, the communications from the owner were great, and we had a nice time. Sort the shower out...a new head costs about £5 from Lidl!

“We stayed May 21-28th The cottage was lovely- very clean (spotless!”

). Very well furnished and comfortable. The owner has thought of everything! The heating wouldn't work one eve & Louise came straight away and got it working. It's about a 10 min walk into Seahouses. The beach is lovely & dog friendly & the area is fantastic if you like bird watching! Dogs are allowed on the boat if you want to go on a trip to the Farne Islands. Lots of nice walks & lovely area to explore.

Felt uncomfortable on occasion due to the fact. Parking sometimes difficult outside property and big vehicles use the road, wing mirror damaged even though tucked in and road side of car scratched. Property itself clean and comfortable.

A bustling, pretty fishing village with an attractive harbour, situated on the beautiful Northumbrian coast in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Seahouses offers a variety of shops and a good selection of inns, pubs and eating places. Nearby are miles and miles of splendid sandy beaches and the opportunity to visit the bird sanctuary or seal colony on the famous Farne Islands with boat trips running daily from Seahouses, is not to be missed. There are numerous castles and great houses to explore, such as the magnificent castles at Bamburgh, Cragside, and Alnwick (home of the Duke of Northumberland), to mention just a few. Golf, fishing and riding are also available locally.
