Good location.

Facilities good, shower good upstairs. Shower room downstairs smelt musty.

2nd time we have stayed at Hazonleigh, 3rd visit to Seahouses.

The house is very conveniently placed for shops,pubs and the beaches. It is a good sized house, board games provided for younger children,and the garden was big enough and safe for our 2 small dogs, we were able to get 2 vehicles on the drive.

We enjoyed our stay - Hazonleigh is comfortable, clean and very well equipped.

It's in a great location for exploring the Northumberland coast and Seahouses is full of shops and restaurants. Our stay could have been improved if the internet had been better ... it struggled to cope with more than one device at at time!

Lovely accommodation, very clean and well stocked.

Unfortunately, there was no toilet roll in the downstairs toilet which was unfortunate after arriving after a 3 hour journey!

Hazonleigh is a lovely modern house.

It is in a great location. This was 3rd time we have stayed here and already booked for next year. The kitchen has everything you need and the welcome pack is great. The bedrooms are spacious and bed linens and towels are good quality. The only fault is the hallway carpet needs a professional clean due to previous guests pets staining it, everywhere else is lovely and clean.

Close to all amenities in Seahouses.

We liked Hazonleigh, but there were a few things which would have made it even better.

The plug in the upstairs bathroom washbasin did not fit properly, so we had to wash under running water - which is wasteful. The kitchen equipment was a bit sparse - the small sharp knife was broken, there was no sieve, there was not a great range of cooking pans.

Lovely home with great facilities. Good parking and dog safe garden. Would recommend and would like to stay again.

A very comfortable semi detached house in a location close to everything in Seahouses.

Warm and clean its home from home. This is the second time I have stayed here and I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Hazonleigh did not fail to impress.

It had everything we needed, and more, and the whole house was warm and comfy. The added bonus was having off street parking for a car on its driveway. The location of the house is perfect for exploring the surrounding area - only a couple of minutes into all the amenities that Seahouses has to offer, as well as the beach and harbour. Bamburgh Castle is only a 10 minute drive away, or a 3 mile walk up the beach to it. A truly relaxing break away. We will definitely be returning.

Within very easy walking of shops and restaurants

Hazonleigh is in a very good position for all the amenities in Seahouses.

Although the outside area is very open. It was secure enough for our young dog to wander around. All in all. We enjoyed our stay.

I always give honest opinions ,I’ve been to seahouses 8 times now and always give a true and accurate review of all the properties we’ve been .

Pros- well situated for all amenities, drive to park car with enclosed gates , welcome pack was nice, plenty cutlery, dishes , etc, Cons- Fridge hopeless, need a fridge freezer ,ice box to small we wasted a lot of dog food that had to be kept frozen ( butternut box) , dishwasher was a disgrace not cleaned from previous guests and felt it mean to leave only 2 dishwasher tablets hoover full to the top, had to empty this , but is that not the cleaners job to make sure it’s empty for the next guests, needs bigger sign regarding front door locking , had to climb through the window to get in could have done with more hand towels and the dogs next door howling at all hours waking us up at 2am, 4am 5am .but our biggest concern was the state of the units, mirrors etc , in my honest opinion whoever cleans the place uses ONE cloth to clean the floor the units and the mirror’s as they were all streaky looking , will I book this property again . Sorry NO

We have really enjoyed our stay at Hazonleigh.

The house was very comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed. It was very central for shops, buses and eateries. Our apologies go to the cleaning lady as we forgot to empty the bin in the kitchen. We only realised about 20 miles from home and it was a bit far to go back!

The bungalow is modern with excellent facilities.

Tea, sugar, coffee, milk and biscuits welcome pack. Excellent location near the high street. Parking for a large car which is very useful. Would recommend this property. This was our 2nd visit and we will be booking to go again next year.

Excellent well equipped holiday home with parking in the centre of Seahouses.

Absolutely great location and a well equipped rental cottage.

Even though the cottage was on the main road in to seahouses there was no noise at night which we thought there might be. Had we have looked in to previous reviews before we booked, we would have been concerned about noise from next door’s dogs. We were there a couple of nights and we only heard them during waking hours and it’s only brief, a quick howl which they all join in with and then done! I don’t know how many is there, maybe 2 or 3? The negatives for the rental were the beds and cleanliness. We used the beds in all 3 bedrooms and we all found them really uncomfortable. At the very least the pillows could have an upgrade. The bathroom looked clean on first appearance but the floor and skirting boards were dirty. I only noticed the skirting boards because I was drawn to the hairs lying on the floor underneath them. In the kitchen the toaster and the tray it was sat on, were covered in crumbs (we hadn’t used it) and the lovely mugs in the cupboard were badly stained. It’s honestly a great spacious house in a wonderful position and if they spent a bit of money on some decent mattresses and sorted the cleaning out I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

This home from home is in a great location.

Off road parking is convenient. The house is cosy and clean with everything provided. Ideal for a dog friendly holiday with the family.

Hazonleigh is a comfortable and well equipped cottage.

It is spacious and in a fantastic location right in the middle of seahouses, so very easy to access walks from the door. The only points to note, important depending on how noise tolerant you are, is that the neighbours dogs do make quite a bit of noise at random times of day. They quieten quickly, but it is notable and sometimes happens very early in the morning. The second thing is that the cottage is on a main road and some traffic noise can be heard at times. This may be fine for some, but worth noting for those who want total peace and quiet.

The property was lovely and clean, making a very comfortable stay.

The location is great for accessing local amenities, ideal spot right in the centre of Seahouses.

Beautiful home in a perfect location, couple of minutes walk at the most to the centre.

Booked Hazonleigh for a week in November, house was immaculate, and in a great position for the beach and walking.

Lovely touch with biscuits, milk & hot chocolate one thing I would add the stair gate to stop the dog going up stairs I would invest in a retractable one as the one supplied one knock and it fell down

The house had everything we needed. Great location. House was exactly as shown on website. No complaints at all. We will visit again in the near future.

We enjoyed our stay at this property but we were a bit disappointed with the cleanliness of it.

On arrival we found dirty towels in the hallway. The downstairs shower didn’t look clean so we all used the upstairs one. There were dog hairs in the dining room area which hadn’t been vacuumed. Unsure if the bedrooms had been vacuumed as we found a couple of dead bugs on the carpets. The property could also do with a proper freezer. The beds were comfortable with plenty of wardrobe space. The kitchen was small but had plenty of crockery and glasses.

The location is excellent, close to shops, cafes, pubs and the harbour.

Private parking is always a bonus in Seahouses. The beds were comfy, as were the settees, plenty of hot water and the house was warm. However, Hazonleigh is in need of a thorough clean and some TLC. We have been visiting Northumberland for many years, and have rebooked some cottages on more than one occasion, however, we won't be returning to Hazonleigh.

This house is clean, modern and comfortable.

Everything you would need is provided for, kitchen extremely well equipped. The 2 bathrooms are spotless and well appointed. The only thing missing is a clock. We go to Seahouses every year and this is by far the best property we have stayed in and we will definitely book again.

The cottage was great -clean, comfortable, perfect location.

The directions were poor: the property is actually 11 King Street and the driveway on Mayfield. 'Turn left into Mayfield' needed to include 'driveway immediately on right behind the property' Also the Sykes time to leave said 9am(too early) but the house guidance said 10am (much more acceptable)

Property matched the description, no issues at all (including the much commented on dogs from next door!).

The house was clean, comfortable and spacious and well equiped.

We loved our stay at Hazonleigh.

The house was lovely and comfortable and all we wanted. There were some negative comments about next doors dogs barking, to be fair, they did strike up a trio of barks and howls at 02:30am but it was short and sweet and didn’t for one moment bother us, it certainly wouldn’t put us off coming back. The other negative comment was about there not being enough dish washer tablets…

We had a wonderful few days away, the house was perfectly situated for shops, pubs and walks.

It was clean, well equipped with everything you could possibly need, warm and had some lovely little additions, such as a welcome pack, games, books and a starter pack for the log burner. Great to have off street parking, probably only big enough for one car or two small ones. For us the layout was perfect, our dog hates laminate flooring (which tends to be in most coastal rentals) so it was great we had the porch and carpeted area, she refused to come into the kitchen! We did hear the dogs next door which everyone seems to mention in feedback but in honesty they weren't bad and didn't bother us. We'd definitely stay here again! 4 nights felt like a week - great break.

The property was spotlessly clean and had every amenity .

It was warm and comfortable. It is conveniently located for the town, within walking distance of all shops and restaurants. The location is also great for visiting the many coastal villages settled both in Northumberland and the Scottish Borders.

Heated towel rail in downstairs loo too close to toilet as burnt my arm. Drawers in cabinet in middle bedroom not cleaned. Dishwasher door difficult to open as hits door frame. Hoover was full of dust

This was our second stay and once again could not fault anything.

The location of the house is perfect and the facilities are first class. Would highly recommend this house.

The only thing wrong with this property is the curtains in the twin bedroom are too light.

. Blackout or dark curtains would be perfect.

The property is very welcoming and homely.

Well equipped but we found the washer dryer very hard to understand how to operate even with the manual. A lack of clocks saw phones being used more but we had one with us so that came in very handy. Good parking. Seahouses has a good choice of shops and cafes along with good pubs and some dog friendly. A bus stop just outside meant we could leave the car at the house and use our bus passes. Would we go back again - yes we will return with such a great choice of things to see and do.

We loved our stay at Hazonleigh.

The house was spacious and clean, and the location was perfect. Seahouses is a beautiful place plenty of shops and a great base to stay.The facilities were good, beds comfortable,house clean and modern and the garden safe for our two shihtzu's. The dogs next door barked early morning and at night but did not bother us too much, I'm sure our dogs and 5 year old grandson were equally noisy at times! So much to do even though the weather wasn't perfect we were out and about walking on Bamburgh and Beadnell beaches, went to Holy Island and Alnwick and Dunstanburgh Castles. We were with our son and his kids aged 5 and 13 years so a mixture of ages to cater for. We had a fantastic time and did not want to come home.

Lovely cottage in a brilliant location in the centre of Seahouses.

So convenient for the harbour, co-op and amenities. We would love to come back at some point. During our stay we did hear the dogs (about 30 seconds of howling at about 6.30am). But it certainly didn’t ruin the holiday, and wouldn’t put me off returning. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable.

A fabulous place, lovely & clean & close to town centre.

Deceptively spacious with all mod cons. The wall around the property is not high so dogs need to be on leads when exiting the property, but that's no hardship. The only downside to the property, which is not something the owners can do anything about, is next doors dogs. Unfortunately they decided to bark / howl numerous times throughout the night on both nights of our stay - so an afternoon nap was needed, but that's what holidays are for

Absolutely beautiful home from home accommodation with all the facilities (& more) that you could ever need when on a self catering holiday.

Within a minutes walk to the shops and restaurants (with some fabulous take away restaurants). Hazonleigh was absolutely spotless and the welcome pack is such a lovely touch. As many others have said, the noise from the dogs next door was an annoyance (especially at 1:30am!!) however this mustn’t deflect from how perfect Hazonleigh is and something that the hosts have any control over. We would love to return, thank you again!

Plenty of space and excellent facilities.

Located close to all shops, pubs and restaurants and Seahouses harbour. The 'canine chorus' from the dogs next door was infrequent and short lived and did not bother us, though the noise from traffic on he main road outside main bedroom did disturb us early mornings. The curtains in the twin bedroom are too thin and sleep is difficult. This place is perfectly suited to exploring coastal areas. We were lucky to have good weather and spent little time in the house. The immediate environment is not particularly attractive if you spend time in the house and there is no private outside space.

Hazonleigh is a centrally located ,well appointed property a true “home away from home “ however the daily and in particular early morning (6am) howling of adjoining properties dogs is very intrusive and would prevent us from returning .

I note this is an ongoing issue that really needs to be addressed as we paid a considerable sum of money to be rudely awakened every morning of our stay at 6am and frequently disturbed during the day by howling and barking

We had a lovely stay in Hazonleigh.

The house is really spacious for a holiday house where, all too often, any available space is portioned up to add an extra bathroom. The accommodation has been well thought through; there is a large kitchen/diner with a sofa, a bright sunny sitting room, a utility room with a shower room which is ideal for getting rid of sand/mud before tracking it into the main house. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds comfortable. The house was generally clean although we were disappointed to find some part finished bottles of drink in the fridge. This was a surprise as the emails from the letting company were pretty draconian about check out dos and don'ts. Some of the bedroom curtains are a little thin so it might be an idea to bring blackout fabric if you're travelling with small children although the curtains in the main bedroom are brilliant. There was clear information about what to put in each bin which is important as this varies so much from place to place. Details about the bin collections were not included in the otherwise comprehensive welcome pack which worried us as the black bin was pretty full when we arrived. We kept an eye on the neighbours and were poised to rush out to put the bin out only to find that a 'bin fairy' had got there first! A relief but a note to that effect in the welcome pack would have been useful. A note to light sleepers - the dogs resident in the next door house can be noisy, although when we were there this was only for short periods. They did wake us in the early hours (4:30 am and 5:00 am) but we were able to get back to sleep. If you are likely to find that this would spoil your holiday this might not be the home for you.

Property as described - good location to all amenities in Seahouses.

Comfortable and well proportioned. Could have done with some hand soap in the bathrooms. The wall around the property is not particularly high and as the property is on a main road, felt uneasy letting the dogs out unsupervised. Whoever put the wheelie bin out left the gate wide open. Thankfully I saw this before letting the dogs out. We did hear a lot of howling and barking from the dogs next door which woke us through the night and early morning. The property itself is fine, but the issues with safety for my dogs and the noise next door would stop me from booking again unfortunately

Fantastic location.

Great value. Room on the drive for 2 cars. Spotless. Our only issue of significance is that the twin bedroom beds are extremely soft, maybe suitable for young children but not adults in our opinion. Also, the curtains in the twin room are extremely thin. However, we would definitely use again if visiting the Northumberland coast.

Lovely modern property very close to all local attractions, modern with good level of comfort to suit a families or couples, would definitely book again.

We found this to be a spacious, well equipped and clean property.

For most things there was plenty of crockery, though a few more mugs may help. Also, fortunately there was only 3 of us so only having 3 wine glasses wasn't an issue but as the property could sleep 5, it could have been. Despite the temperatures dropping as the week went on we didn't find it cold indoors.

Location is great but the facilities and cleanliness could be improved.

We loved the house, lovely decor, great kitchen diner, love the utility room and lovely log burner in lounge.

Great sized rooms with built in wardrobes. Lots of space. Lovely flurry white towels. Fantastic location near shops, restaurants and the beach. The dogs next door we only heard once and didn’t bother us as we have noisy kids. Don’t let this put you off. Would definitely be back.

Hazonleigh has a good layout, is cosy and very comfortable.

Lots of cleaning products provided, lots of fluffy towels and a welcome pack with tea, coffee, milk and biscuits. A few dishwasher tablets provided but hey it’s self catering folks there was plenty of washing up liquid provided so not a problem! (Someone had mentioned there weren’t enough dishwasher tablets provided hence this comment

The property was very good, clean, well equipped and great location.

The only slight criticism was Parking on the street was impossible, very narrow and vans parked most of the week but that didn’t stop us having a great week

Well appointed property close to all amenities and providing easy access to main attractions.

Property was comfortable and well equipped. However, we were woken several times each night on six out of seven nights by next doors dogs and the owner shouting at them to quieten them. We will not be using the house again and would not recommend it to anyone else.

Great house, brilliant location, very nicely furnished with everything required provided.

Only one suggestion for improvement is to put in thicker curtains for the twin and single room, as current ones provide little darkness when kids are trying to get to sleep pre dusk. We will be booking again for next year.

The first thing I want to make clear is that in spite of feedback left by other visitors the dogs next door did not bother us.

Yes, they barked or howled occasionally, sometimes - definitely not always- in the early morning, but never for long. Do not let this put you off. This is a very comfortable cottage, well situated. The Coop is only 100 yards away and it stays open late. The on site parking is needed and was no problem for our small car. My only plea is for the owners to give up on the commercially put together welcome packs and go over to a straight pint of milk, bottle of washing up liquid and sufficient dishwasher tablets for once a day. I don't have a dishwasher at home and don't keep a supply of tablets, so buying a box would have been daft for me. And I have only this year come up against inductive hobs for the first time. From a previous experience I knew you had to have a pan on the stove to make it work but the instruction booklet for this one didn't make that clear. Some instructions in plain English separate from the booklets would be a help to those of us who are not so up to date. However, it is also indicative of the quality of the renovation of this cottage.

Lovely and clean.

Great central location with restaurants, takeaways and village centre an easy walk away. The sandy beach is a little further but still easily walkable. Enclosed garden great for the dogs, they are little, so the wall may be a bit low for a big dog who can jump. Off street parking a bonus!

A lovely spacious home.

We found mattresses too soft for us and pillows.Twin bedroom curtains needed to be darker they let in too much light. Room fully lit up at times must be a security light near. Next door neighbours dogs were extremely loud with their barking one morning at 1am anither 2. 30am & most days either around 5am or 6am & most evenings. Log fire was appreciated on Monday evening when cooler because it had been raining all day. Excellent location for everything. Welcome pack was appreciated. Two showers were good. Has good heating & hot water. A really good property to stay in a great pity about the howling dogs next door. A two step ladder would be handy for use in the kichen for the high cupboards.

The property was very well presented and very clean.

It had all the facilities and items necessary for our stay. The downstairs shower/toilet was very beneficial for ourselves and the oil central heating kept the property nice and warm. A very comfortable and enjoyable holiday as it was ideally situated for the village.

Such a cozy house which was clean and well equipped. Couldn't have asked for a better Holiday. Slept amazingly and it was quiet. Having two bathrooms and lots of large fluffy towels was a bonus after a day out walking. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely home, very clean, great location and great facilities (the log burner was brilliant).

Check out time was a bit too early and the main bed's mattress is possibly due a new one but otherwise a very nice stay.

A lovely holiday home.

Very comfortable with plenty of amenities. Perfect location in Seahorses. Next doors do have a couple of vocal dogs but their barking only lasted a few minutes at a time and didn’t bother us unduly. Will definitely go again next year if we get the chance.

The location and accomodation were perfect.

I was worried about reviews about howing dogs next door. However, These episodes of the "dogs howling" only lasted about 45 seconds, so this was not an issue really. If we go back to seahouses we will certainly stay here again.

Already given feedback but to reiterate, comfortable house, good facilities and local beaches all within walking distance.

Only niggles, fridge a bit small for a family and the canine chorus from next door was quite disruptive both day and night

The property was in an excellent location, no need for the car, beaches within easy walking distance.

It was also clean and very comfortable. Only two niggles, the fridge was a bit small for a family but the canine chorus from next door was the only real turn off. We would go back in the hope that the dogs had learnt better manners by then!

Excellent location for town, coastal path and beach .

Well equipped . Clean and in good order Only small niggles, the fridge was too small for a family of 5 . A decent vegetable peeler would have been appreciated! The dogs next door could be noisy at unsocial hours ( ie night and early morning ) but we did not find that unacceptably intrusive

The location was great, property was well proportioned with good facilities.

However, I would not stay again for the following reasons: dogs barking at all hours next door, the second bathroom was downstairs in the utility room and very inconveniently located if families are sharing the house and trying to use separate bathrooms - both of these things should be made very clear upfront and there were half used toilet rolls rather than new toilet rolls left. Also while the advertisement mentioned 3 cars can be parked, they would have to be very small cars because we found it tricky to park 2 larger cars - it was a struggle and again this should be clear.

At times local dogs noisy .

A well equipped modern house well located in the centre of town.

Previous reviews about dog barking were not as much of a problem as made out although there was some barking through the night it did not spoil the break. There are three off road parking spaces if you are very good at manoeuvring in a tight space. Altogether very happy with this place.

The house was very good for our needs, we would not go again because being semi-detached property we heard the neighbours dogs howling and barking most mornings at 2.

30 and 3.o'clock, which was very disturbing every night, and spoilt the holiday. They also barked and howled during the day.

The house was really clean and tidy and well placed for all amenities.

For me the bed was a little uncomfortable, but I am used to a firm foam mattress. The enclosed garden is great if you have a dog. The only thing that spoils this property is the early morning dark barking from next door.

The house was first class plenty of room well equipped kitchen clean and welcoming.

Situated very close to shops and with easy walking distance to excellent coast and beach walks, the only down side was the next door neighbours dogs howling and barking 6.30 every morning and through out the night fortunately for us we didn’t have any young children in need of sleep but feel that people should be aware of this. I will and have booked through Sykes Holiday Cottages again as I feel that they make every effort to make your bookings and stay as stress free as possible you marks.

Lots to do in the area. The house was fab. Modern, clean and home from home. I cannot think of anything it didn't have. We would recommend to fellow holidaymakers and will be back!

The house is so lovely, comfortable and the best of everything and quality throughout, fantastic location, so convenient to the town.

The dogs next door were a problem, barking at all hours. We had one problem, Four of us booked, only had 3 bath towels and only 2 hand towels in the house. No towel in downstairs toilet. Also only 2 part used toilet rolls in house too. If we had been told to bring toilet paper we could have.

The house was beautiful, lovely and spacious too.

Nice and clean for when we arrived. A bonus that there was off street parking for both cars too. Bed were so comfy and the shower was incredible. Nice hot water for shower and washing up. Great the fact there was a washing machine especially with a young baby. Great Location for getting to attractions. Lots of very good restaurants and takeaways close by. Highly recommend the pizzeria opposite the coop!!! Thank you for a great stay we would come back. Only a couple of niggles/suggestions. Maybe a clock in the kitchen or lounge. We were always looking for one. And the cutlery drawer should be swapped with the utensil drawer for ease. The dogs next door did make a rackets very so often but that didn’t affect us too much as I was already up with the baby. Woke us up a couple of times but I k ow they can’t really do much about that.
