Shileen

We stayed in Shileen for a week and loved it!

Shileen is a very conveniently located property in Seahouses, with plenty of space to sleep 6. It is well furnished and comfortable, with a lovely patio and a good sized and well maintained back garden that gets plenty of sun. Dog friendly as well, with secure perimeter. There was a nice welcome basket on arrival with tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, bottle of wine and dog treats awaiting us. We will certainly consider rebooking this property for our future visits to Seahouses. A couple of minor feedback points. It would have been great to have a welcome booklet in the property, particularly for useful info eg bin collection days. Also after about the fourth day the plumbing/boiler started making a loud noise when the downstairs kitchen or bathroom tap was turned on, perhaps a loose valve/washer somewhere?

We were a group of older less able bodied people and found the step from the patio into the garden difficult.

If step was made in the center of the railings it could have more than one step however more able bodied people would manage. The garden and maintenance of it was fabulous and ideal for dogs. We found the kitchen a little too small but had the extra space in the utility room. The bedrooms had wonderfully comfortable beds and were clean and tidy. The downstairs shower room could have done with a fan as it smelt a little musty and there was black on the white silicone if only everyone used the squeegee provided to dry off the shower after each use this could be avoided. We met the host Pauline and her nephew who were very nice and helped us with the wi fi password as it’s not at all clear and we couldn’t make it out. They were also informing us of places to visit. On the whole the house was lovely but a bigger kitchen would have been a plus for us. But on the whole the house is very well kept.

The welcome pack was amazing. Beds very comfy, garden such a lovely space for our dog. Lots of excellent information provided in the email prior to arrival. The weather was very mixed but lots of walks as usual. Loved the space but even in bad weather found the conservatory a little bright

Lovely accommodation in a great location.

The property was spotless with everything you could need for a great break away. The welcome goodies (including for the furry family member!) was a lovely addition. The garden is an added bonus, tranquil with a great seating area. Would definitely recommend this property for a great break away.

Usually book getaways at the last minute so doubt this property would be free again.

Excellent property/ location/ cleanliness

We have just returned after a very comfortable week at Shileen in Seahouses.

We stayed with our 12 year old daughter and dog. The house was spotlessly clean and the welcome basket was a very nice gesture. Shileen is a very spacious, comfortable and practical house which is well equipped and benefits form hi quality bedding and towels. The accommodation benefits from a large enclosed rear garden which was perfect for dog. The off street parking was also a bonus. The accommodation is well positioned for all of the conveniences in Seahouses and made for a good base from which to visit Northumberland's many attractions. Our only slight criticism is that the house would have benefitted from an information manual/booklet that detailed things like bin days and recyling etc....a minor point in an otherwise lovely stay at a lovely house.

Lovely house and cottage.

As it's got everything you need. One day had no hot water and central heating. I text the owner and they came out straight away to fixed this saying it's a blip with the wind.

2hd time at this property and booked before we left for next year it's a lovely house but only neg is the it could do with a a spruce up settee in sitting room could do with a clean but overall stay excellent and everything u need for a great holiday

We LOVED our stay in this property.

Clean, roomy and well-equipped; it is in an ideal location within the town of Seahouses. Easy walking distance to shops, harbour, golf and beaches. We very much hope to holiday here again and would not hesitate in recommending it to family and friends. Thank you

Pauline and Ady were extremely helpful in providing useful information and ensuring that we had a very comfortable stay. The property is of a high standard and is in an excellent location. Our dog Ted, appreciated the large garden too! Thank you so much :-)

A lovely property, very clean and spacious garden.

I think if staying in summer more garden furniture and a garden parasol would enhance the large enclosed gardens .It is situated within easy reach of all of the facilities and beach. Well located to visit other areas. I would recommend this house and i will definitely return.

Lovely property, very well maintained.

Patio space was great to use early morning and early evening, before and after our daily walking. Our little dog loved it here, we didn't want to leave. Welcome pack was appreciated too.

Enclosed rear garden with good off road parking. Careful of the hot water extremely hot. Would definitely recommend staying here

We had a lovely week in Shileen, it was within easy walk to the beach and shops.

The welcome pack was much appreciated, thank you! The house was bright and spacious, had everything we needed, apart from some egg cups when we had boiled eggs!Meals in the sunny conservatory was lovely, but got a little too hot sometimes, maybe some blinds at the windows would have helped? All in all we would recommend Shileen and are thinking of coming back next year

Lovely , spotlessly clean house.

Comfy beds. Very convenient for all amenities. Possibly needs a blind for privacy on the landing window. Conservatory too hot on a sunny day to eat at the table, blinds ? Dishwasher needs instructions on use.. Front and back step could be tricky with anyone with mobility problems. Incorrect key safe code provided by Sykes and difficult to contact, luckily neighbour kindly assisted. An emergency local contact number would be useful.

We would definitely stay there again.

Just back from an amazing week staying at Shileen in Seahouses.

The property was modern and very comfortable. House was so clean and fresh. The welcome pack of milk, bread and wine was very much appreciated especially on a very stormy Thursday night. My only issue was the last step into the garden. Very high, especially for my 90 year old mum and small pomeranian Gizmo. Apart from that property had everything we needed. Would certainly return.

Great stay in a lovely well maintained, comfortable property.

Perfect location, within a couple of minutes walk of all the amenities in Seahouses. Would highly recommend spending a holiday at Shieleen.

When we arrived we opened the conservatory doors, only to find one of the doors wouldn't close.

Eventually we managed to close it as the house wouldn't have been secure. I phoned Sykes to report the problem and the owner did respond within an hour. The conservatory was nice as the dining room but the lack of blinds made it like a greenhouse with the beautiful weather we had, so we had to resort to hanging up some covers by fastening them with pegs. A blind at the large landing window would be good as it would give privacy from the nextdoor neighbour. Some bedside lamps would be good, as would a chair in the bedroom. The beds were very comfortable and the house was clean. Unfortunately we didn't bring our dog as planned as he passed away afew weeks ago , but the laminate floor would have been a problem for him. I think this property is new to the market and with a bit more thought to the said above is an ideal place for a stay in seahouses.

Lovely home with enclosed garden for your kids and dog! The owners left fresh flowers and a welcome pack which was a nice touch.

Excellent Accommodation in a great location catering for every holiday need.

My wife and I celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary in Sunny Seahouses and loved it.

Fabulous place to stay, absolutely immaculate and excellent location.

The welcome pack was extremely welcoming and very thoughtful. If I am ever up that way again, would definitely stay in this property as everything catered for.

Great stay, loved the bottle of wine bread and the milk (not a milk drinker but a nice touch) that was left for us when we got there.

Pauline was great at giving advice about the local area and places to visit, also best eateries close by. We love Seahouses and will definitely be going back. Ian B

Such well positioned in the village.

Parking us superb. The garden was perfect for my dog, very dog friendly. Lots of space in the house, and furnished to accommodate family together and space. Plenty of room and sitting areas so you are not on top of each other! The property was very clean indeed.

Just come back from the beautiful Shileen, so close to the lovely beach, shops.

The house was spotless, would have enjoyed lights out onto the garden, but thats it, I would definitely recommend Shileen and would definitely go back!

Our cottage was clean, comfortable and we'll equipped.

Perfect location for exploring the area, lovely to come back to warm house after walks in the cold. We took one dog with us and the garden was perfect for him. I think some outdoor lighting would be beneficial, both along the pathway and then into the garden too, maybe on the shed. There are a couple if steps on the path and I think good outdoor lighting would make it a but easier. Also some sort of blinds for the (amazing) conservatory windows, just to make it cosier when eating at the table. Overall really lovely holiday in a gorgeous house, we would definitely return to the house in the future. Thank you to both the owner and the lady who assisted us if needed.

Nice sized house in a great location.

Clean and functional with a nice open kitchen area. Basic but had everything so suited our purpose for a coastal get away. Shame the gas ran out and cut our stay short ..... relies upon bottled gas and all 4 big bottles appeared to be empty on Sunday morning so we did not stay till Monday.

One of the best holiday homes we have stayed in.

A joy to spend our time in. Kitchen area is so lovely. Appreciated super king bed and lovely clean bedding. Great to have two showers etc. One tip to improve - we found the boiler very confusing so an idiots guide how to turn the heating on and off would be helpful (manufacturers leaflet not useful) This is a minor thing and would not stop us returning in future.

Lovely property ideal location for town.

Spotlessly clean and plenty of room lovely garden and seating bedding crisp and clean lovely king size bed also 2 other lovely rooms and 2 showers .Very well equipped with everything you could want and nice welcome pack which was appreciated.Many thanks to Pauline got everything right in house.
