    “We booked this cottage for a second time as our previous stay was very comfortable.”

    Unfortunately on our arrival there was a huge temporary generator opposite the front door which was both deafening outside and loud on the inside too. I contacted the Northumbria tourist office immediately and was told by the lady they managed a number of the Armstrong cottages but were completely unaware of any electrical issues which I found hard to believe. I fully understood the circumstances but was promised that I would be contacted back by themselves or the owner. An apology would have ...

I fully understood the circumstances but was promised that I would be contacted back by themselves or the owner. An apology would have been appreciated but never forthcoming which was most inconsiderate.(generator removed on the Wednesday). The property was very clean and tidy but is definitely in need of updating, the kitchen is in poor condition and the hob doesn't work properly. There are 6 windows which have blown, look dreadful and need replacing. A lot of money for not the best facilities. Sadly we won't be rushing back to this property again.

Armstrong Cottages No22 is an attractive, spacious cottage located on the very popular Armstrong Cottages estate originally built by Lord Armstrong for the workmen restoring Bamburgh Castle.

The property offers a home from home with space for all the family to enjoy the cosy and comfortable accommodation in peaceful surroundings.

Only a short walk to the village centre where there are plenty of pubs and restaurants and the famous Bamburgh Castle.

The cottage is only a stones throw from the dunes where you can walk straight onto the beach. ACCOMMODATION GROUND FLOOR Living room with Smart TV and feature fireplace. Dining room with dining table and chairs. Conservatory with easy seating and coffee table. Kitchen with induction hob, electric oven, microwave, bread maker, fridge, freezer, wine fridge, dishwasher and washing machine. Bedroom 1 with double bed. Family bathroom with shower over bath, WC, heated towel rail and basin. FIRST FLOOR Bedroom 2 with king size bed and en suite shower room with WC and basin. Bedroom 3 with twin beds. Bedroom 4 with bunk beds. Family shower room with WC and basin. OTHER FACILITIES Externally there is parking for 2 cars to the front with a small lawn area and to the rear the is an enclosed garden with furniture.

All power, linen and towels included in the rent.

Seahouses 3.5 miles; Beadnell 5.1 miles; Alnwick 16.9 miles.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.
