Redshank

Our second stay at Redshank, and not our last.

The house is perfectly placed for access to the seafront, being a short walk over the grassy area to the rear. The property itself is spotlessly clean and well-equipped with everything you are likely to need for your holiday. The rooms are of a good size. The welcome pack is a nice touch. All in all one of the best properties we have stayed in.

This cottage is the best we've stayed in having used a number of cottages in various parts of England over the years.

Not necessarily with Sykes Cottages though. My wife and I always pick a cottage with two bedrooms and for three or four people. Not only was it very spacious but had character with comfort. The brief contact I had with Wayne, the owner, before we arrived proved me right that we had picked the right cottage. I would highly recommend this cottage.

Wonderful stay at Redshank.

We chose the property for its location and it didn’t disappoint. The property is comfortable and spacious for a family of three and perfectly appointed. The availability of parking at the back of the property was appreciated.

I had a lovely week at Redshank with my dog Otis.

There was everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The kitchen was really well equipped and the welcome pack helped us to settle in really well on our first night and feel welcome. The property is in an ideal location for exploring the coastline beaches of the county which is basically what we came for primarily.

Redshank is very clean comfortable home from home.

Location is brilliant, 2 minutes from harbour and shops. Everything you need is available. The welcome pack was nice, although I'm not a wine drinker, the fact they have thought of it was amazing, even treats for my dog. Would say handles on the bath would be a help. Fantastic stay and would recommend to everyone.

A really lovely holiday home, clean and comfortable with everything necessary provided plus there was safe parking at the rear of the property.

The welcome package was much appreciated. I would recommend this property to anyone, it is well positioned for local shops, the harbour and there were nearby bus stops to places such as Warkworth & Alnwick etc. Would definitely stay again.

Very clean and we'll equipped.near to shops pubs and restaurant, parking easy Lots of nice touches and welcoming treats. Well thought out for the dog .with dog treats and poo bags . Comfortable sofas and beds . Hosts really friendly and helpful . Would recommend and would book again

This is a lovely property in a great position just behind the harbour.

It is beautifully furnished and very comfortable.Also convenient for all amenities such as shops and places to eat.The harbour is a stone’s throw away with all that it offers.Even our little dog was catered for in every way.So welcoming.We can’t wait to return next year.

A lovely house in a great location for the local Amble Cafes , restuarants , pubs and shops that are all within a 10 minute walk.

The harbour area is a 5 minute walk away. Also excellent location for visiting all the wonderful places on the Northumberland coastline.

We loved the property from the 1st minute.

So comfortable, clean and with everything we needed. Lovely welcome pack, and Helpful and friendly communication with the owners. Well situated near to harbour and town. Loved the local pubs, restaurants and takeaways, shops & Sunday market. What a treat watching the dolphins from the harbour pier on our last morning. Would definitely return to Redshank.

Even though on a Main Street it was nice and quiet. Was extremely comfortable and clean and well appointed. Easy parking behind the house and a lovely phone call from the owner informing me of the new lockbox code. Loved it would stay again

Redshank is an extremely comfortable, clean and well equipped cottage.

Well situated to enjoy the friendly town of Amble and the Northumbrian coast and surrounding countryside. The lovely welcome pack and friendly contact from the owner was much appreciated. Highly recommended.

A lovely house beautifully decorated for Xmas. Thankyou so much for the welcome pack, really appreciated! There is nothing that you need to bring, they have thought of everything. Situated 200 yards from quayside with plenty of lovely eating places. Plenty of walks from the door, especially if you have a dog. Great green area to rear for that last walk at night. We have been coming to Amble for at least 10 years and this is one of the nicest properties we have stayed in.

The property was absolutely gorgeous. It felt like walking into a home, it was cosy and comfortable and very well equipped with everything you could possibly want. I must mention the wonderful bath sheets, fluffy and soft! The welcome pack was much appreciated. The owners were very helpful when we contacted them prior to the stay. The location was perfect, a few minutes walk to the high street and harbour. The beaches were close by, brilliant for dogs! We would truly recommend Redshank for a relaxed stay.

A very welcoming place to stay.

Very clean and plenty of equipment cooking and cleaning. Ideally situated for visiting the area. Communication from the owner was excellent.

Very spacious, clean and comfortable.

The welcome pack was very much appreciated, thank you. Had to turn the air fresheners off and we had problems with Sky. However we did have a brilliant time.

This was the best equipped holiday accommodation we’ve ever stayed in. The owners had thought of everything. And the standard of cleanliness was first rate. The property is two minutes from the lovely harbour and not far from an amazing beach. We would recommend 100%.

Nice property in a good location.

Stairs a bit tricky due to narrowness Shower pressure weak but still did the job. No steak knife’s but otherwise well stocked.would be happy to recommend this property.

This is our third time in this cottage and everything is perfect it’s clean comfortable and has all the mod cons you need as well as being in a great location

This is a well appointed property in a super location from which to explore the beautiful coastline.

We ate out several times and found the local eateries to be of a high standard. The owners very helpfully informed us when the property was available for early access. With the heating being off for the summer period we found the house somewhat chilly but weren’t in enough to use the log burner. A more instant source of heat in the living room would be useful.

Brilliant location for the beach and Marina. Nice little patio to sit and a safe space for my Whippet x Saluki Barney too. The cottage is lovely, very clean and spacious. It's well equipped. It's home from home for me. Lovely welcoming treats on arrival. Perfect place to celebrate my 65th birthday!!

This was a perfect break for us !

The cottage was immaculate and welcoming. It was in a perfect location and in walking distance to many amenities including boat trips , restaurants , pubs, dog walks , beaches , pharmacies and shops . When we had a small issue with the tv not coming on I called the owner who immediately contacted the housekeepers . Within 5 minutes he had arrived and changed the batteries in the remote control. Job done!! Nothing was too much trouble . We are already considering a return to redshank . Well done to the team involved . Fantastic

Everything was just fine and exactly as advertised We had a lovely week in this very comfortable holiday home The owners were kind enough to ring night before our holiday to say we could arrive 2 hours early, this was much appreciated

We had a lovely stay.

The cottage was very comfortable and warm which is really important in February. The whole place was clean, well cared for and well laid out. Big, comfortable bed and lots of wardrobe space and general storage space. The welcome pack was a nice touch.

Property is clean, tidy and well equipped. Good furnishings and a decent bed. Well placed in Amble for, pretty much, everything.

Our third visit to Redshank.

Very clean and well maintained property that’s perfect for a couple. Lovely welcome pack. Central location near to shops, bars and restaurants. Great beaches nearby at Warkworth and Druridge Bay. Freshly caught fish bought several times straight off the harbour in Amble. Spotted some sea lions one evening in the harbour. Can’t wait for our next visit.

Perfect stay.

Redshank was beautifully decorated for Christmas, was warm & comfortable and the owner had thought of everything. We love Amble and the surrounding areas and have stayed a few times but this was our first stay at Redshank. Very close to the harbour & all the amenities we would definitely stay again & recommend. Thank you so much to the owners for the welcome gifts too, they were very much appreciated

We found Redshank to be a beautiful holiday home that was equipped with everything you could need for your stay.

We only booked a short break but the little touches made us feel very welcome. The location of the house was handy for the shops and the harbour area. We walked to the Harbour Inn one day and I’d highly recommend this pub for food & drinks. It has a dog friendly section which was ideal for us.

Had a really great break Accommodation was very clean and comfortable with plenty of utilities Would recommend this place

Wonderful property.

Wonderful location. As a couple on holiday we would prefer to have a dishwasher rather than a washing machine, otherwise perfect

Loved staying here !

Everything was spot on . Well equipped for a self catering stay . If I had to nit pick , the pizza tray is too big for the oven , so the oven door wouldn't close , just cut the pizza in half , problem solved. Would definitely book Redshank again if I was returning to Amble. Up to press , it is the best accommodation, that we have stayed in so far. 10 out of 10

Really lovely cottage, perfect location for the town, restaurants, cafes and beaches.

Little extras left by the hosts were much appreciated. The cleanliness was second to none and every time we walked in we got a lovely smell all the week we were there. Would definitely recommend this place and would stay again in a heartbeat!

Arrived to a lovely gift.

The cottage was lovely very well equipped. It’s also near to the harbour and beach the hut shops and high street were very friendly. Thinking of going back next year

Everything we needed was provided - it was comfortable, exceptionally well-equipped and clean.

Big fluffy towels also appreciated. Very close to the harbour and shops. Lots to see and do within half an hour's drive, too.

This property is a credit to it's owner.

Lovely touches throughout and the quality of the furnishings tasteful. The location is excellent for all the town facilities and safe parking. The weather could have been kinder so we could have enjoyed the cute little patio area at the rear. Just a short drive from Druridge Bay, beautiful beach, and nature park with loads of walking and cycling trails. Great area all round and five star accommodation, would definitely recommend.

Second time way have stayed here and have booked again for next year It’s a perfect set up a very comfy king size bed all amenities you require as well as a lovely welcome back with wine and milk already in the fridge The location is excellent for exploring the Northumberland cost as well as Amble itself

The cottage was just right for myself and partner very clean and homely.

Parking at the rear was great. We both had great sleep on the king-size bed.The harbour was a very short stroll away and there are so many visitor attractions all easily accessible.All in all a lovely cottage and comfortable and well presented.Thank you John and Sylvie

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Redshank.

The property was clean, comfortable and well equipped, and the welcoming "goodies" were a lovely touch! The location was also excellent with a very short walk to the harbour and town centre. Lots to visit - including the Sunday Market, the very good restaurants The Old Boat House and The Fish Shack, The Harbour Inn and the many dog-friendly cafes. Warkworth, Alnwick, Morpeth, Newbiggin are all well within reach as well as numerous splendid beaches. The strong winds prevented us from getting out to see the puffins so we'll have to return!

A great cottage. Very clean and well presented. A thoughtful welcome gift on arrival and milk etc to make a drink. Good location only a short stroll from the harbour and shops. As usual everything was spot on. It's really handy for the harbour and local shops. There are so many beautiful beaches within walking distance or a short drive away. The owners are helpful and friendly. The cottage is comfortable with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. We will be back.

Our second stay at Redshank this year.

Really enjoyed our stay again as the cottage in an excellent location for the shops, harbour and beach within easy walking distance. My first impression of the cottage when we arrived was how clean it was and it was very well maintained. Very comfortable beds with lovely bedding. Kitchen well equipped and had everything we needed. Would recommend a stay here to anyone and we hope to be back next year.

Redshank was perfect.

It was clean, comfortable and well equipped with everything you need. There was a lovely welcome pack for us and treats for our dog. Close to the harbour which has a good selection of eating places and food huts. It's a good base to explore the area. We will definitely be returning.

This was a lovely cottage.

Had all we needed for a lovely break. Great walking on the door step and some lovely fishing villages along the coast. Amble is a working port so plenty of fresh fish to be had. The harbour chippy always had a queue and we ate from there twice. The cottage itself was homely and cosy. The welcome box was a lovely touch. We will definitely go back.

This property had a very good location for Amble harbour and shops, also close to lovely sandy beaches The kitchen was very well appointed with everything I needed from a self catering property.

The bed was extremely comfortable and despite allowing dogs in the property, there was nothing to suggest that dogs had lived there. Thanks for sharing this lovely property we’d love to stay again in the future.

Redshank is a beautiful, well equipped, dog friendly property which has everything you could possibly need on holiday (except maybe a dishwasher for a family).

Super close to the harbour, restaurants & pubs and Amble is a great base from which to explore the Northumberland coast. There is a lovely grassed area just outside the back gate, perfect if you have a dog. Personally can't fault Redshank & the owners were super helpful.

Amazing home .

Clean and so comfortable and tastefully decorated. A really nice welcome pack was left for us and a gift and card for my partner for his birthday which was a lovely gesture . Very cosy and a perfect location ..just a short walk to the beach and restaurants..my little girl loved the beach and playing in the rock pools and we really enjoyed the boat ride and saw lots of Atlantic Grey seals which were great fun . Lunch at the boat house is a must . The owners were really helpful as well and we will definitely stay again . Highly recommended .

We had a great stay at Redshank, it was everything we hoped for.

It was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Everything was really good quality, especially the beds and bedding. Very central for everything in Amble, and a great base to visit other places along the coast. The personal gift package was a lovely touch. Thank you for a memorable stay.

Had a fantastic stay.

Great location 2 min walk away from the Harbor, local bars and restaurants, shops. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed. We were surprised, the room sizes were a lot bigger than in the photos. Lovely dining areas lounge and fully fitted kitchen. Garden was enclosed and great for our small/medium sized dog. Even left dog treats and a few essentials which was a lovely touch. Would highly recommend.

Fairly spacious holiday pad.

Great location for touring the Northumberland coast. Clean and tidy with some good improvements since our last stay in September. Nice welcoming treats. Would and probably will book again.

Absolutely beautiful cottage, just perfect.

The cottage is light, airy and spacious and has everything you need to make your stay perfect. The washing machine is very useful. The decoration is lovely, just the right amount of seaside feel with some luxury touches. TV in the bedroom was great to relax with a cup of tea in a morning for an hour. Having the off street parking at the back was also great as the road can get quite busy especially at the weekend when the harbour market is on. The grass out of the back gate is also great for the dog to have a good run around before jumping in the car ready for a day of exploring the coast. Although, there are good walks up to Warkworth and the other way past Amble links to the large beach which was also great for the dog. The location is great , a minute walk from the harbour, with the lovely shopping pods and great pubs, restaurants and take aways such as Radcliffes Cafe Bar, The Old Boathouse, The Harbour Inn, Lilly's Landing, Harbour Fish Bar and Golden Harbour Chinese takeaway to name a few we tried! I'd love to recommend this fabulous cottage to all my family and friends but fear if I did we might not manage to get booked in again ourselves!! We will definitely look at Redshank for availability first the next time we want to visit Amble.

Lovely cottage in great location to explore Northumberland. Well equipped and clean. Amble has great places to eat and great scenic walks on the doorstep

We have just returned from a very enjoyable week at Redshank.

The property was well situated with all amenities on the doorstep. The house was very comfortable and well equipped. We appreciated the comfy beds and good quality bedding. The parking space at the back of the property is really good as it means you don't have to park on the street. Thank you to the owners for the welcome pack as well. We enjoyed it that much we booked to go back again later this year.

Lovely property to stay in, very clean, well equipped, ideal parking spot behind cottage, close to harbour & beaches and bed really comfy.

The only negatives are it’s on a relatively busy street & it took quite a bit to get property warm but probably because no one had been in it for a while. Also while the downstairs is quite “fisherman cottage” decorated which is what you would want in a holiday home the upstairs is completely different to that. The negatives are only very minor though and overall it’s lovely place to stay. Masons Arms at Warkworth & Harbour Inn in Amble are dog friendly & would recommend. Harbour Fish bar excellent too.

Our first time staying at Redshank, fifth visit to Amble.

Lovely cottage. Perfect for a couple. Very clean and well equipped. Great location. Places to eat and drink nearby. Would definitely recommend this cottage. Amble is a great location for exploring Northumberland. Great beaches for walks with the dog.

I have stayed at cottages on this road several times and this property trumps the others.

We booked this break at the last minute for our birthdays in mid December and Redshank was ideally located in Amble to explore the surrounding areas and fantastic beaches nearby which we had a great time exploring with our black lab.

The property was very clean and well appointed, and it was a god send to have the log burner in one of coldest weeks we have had for a long time ! Also a big thank you to Louise for the birthday treats that were left for us it was really appreciated and we will certainly be recommending this property to others and hope to visit again in the future.
