Fabulous cottage, great location with lovely coastal walks from the cottage.

Very comfortable and clean.

We stayed at the property mid May, we were extremely pleased with our stay.

The property was extremely clean and well supplied with all the the amenities you could require, the bed were very comfortable. The cottage is a very short walk into Amble harbour and the shops, there is dog walking areas within 2 minutes for anyone who takes pets. We were so impressed with the cottage that we have already booked it for next year.

Super property.

Spotless as on previous visits, this was our third visit - the welcome pack was even better than last time! The location is fantastic for all that Amble and the surrounding area has to offer. We never had a problem with parking at all. The bed is very comfortable and the water pressure in the shower is good. Lots of areas around suitable for walking the dog and plenty of poo bins.

From the moment we walked in we were delighted with this property.

It is spotlessly clean and maintained to the highest standard as well as being tastefully furnished. There is a super-king sized bed (two singles put together) in one room, a double in the second and a single bed with a bedside cabinet in the third room. Both the main rooms have wardrobes and drawers - the single room is too small for that. The curtains are good quality black out curtains so we weren't bothered by light coming in, nor were we disturbed by noise from the street. The matress in the super king room didn't appear to be be super high quality but they were comfortable - and we are fussy! The mattress in the double room was good quality, but we did need to turn it so it wasn't sloping to the sides. The pillows and bedding were all lovely and soft as were the towels, which were white and fluffy. The bath and shower are great and there is plenty of hot water. The heating controls are super easy, unlike some other places we have stayed, although the boiler - in the superking room - is a bit noisy, so take ear plugs if you don't want to be woken by it coming on in the morning! Downstairs, everything is hard wood flooring throughout (I think Karndean) and there is a leather corner sofa and two fabric arm chairs. All of the chairs are comfy to sit in and clean. I have allergies to animals and this property allows dogs, but I didn't experience any issues at all. The woodburning stove is one of the best we have experienced - very easy to light with plenty of space for logs. The TV is on an extendable arm so you can angle it any way you like and, again, was easy to use and had Sky and Netflix as well as all the usual terrestrial channels. The little courtyard is accessed by patio doors and is beautifully maintained, with a table and chairs and BBQ. The kitchen has everything you could want. There is a fridge freezer with three freezer drawers and induction hob and a microwave - and a caffetier and a coffee pod machine. We were welcomed by a wonderful welcome basket with wine, cake, biscuits and tea bags. There were some coffee pods, enough logs for a fire, washing up liquid and enough dishwasher tablets to last a couple of days. There was easy access from the street the house was in, through a lane to the little bay area, just next to the harbour so we were literally two minutes away from the sea. I almost don't want to publish this review because some things are so good you want to keep them to yourselves ...... This place isn't thrown together to be 'good enough'. We remarked that we were more comfortable there than in some luxury hotels we have stayed in.

Very close the coastal path, with nice walks from the door. The cottage was very clean and the welcome basket was a nice touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

What an amazing little cottage this is, beautifully decorated with a fab kitchen kitted out with everything you need,lovely comfy beds and fab spacious bathroom with bath and shower lovely large sitting room with a log burner all close to the beach and central for getting around Northumberland.

I would deffinately recomend Silversands very peaceful. We hope to come back soon.

The property is perfect for a relaxing break on the Northumberland Coast.

It is centrally-located on a quiet street with on-road parking (not guaranteed, but we never had a problem getting parked outside the property). Lovely and spacious, with neutral decor throughout. Central heating works a treat which is great after long walks, plus the log burner adds an extra cosy touch. Great to have a bath as well as an excellent shower. Only niggle was the shower head holder could do with tightening as it doesn't stay where you put it, and we ended up with some water on the bathroom floor as a result. Property is extremely well-equipped, with everything you will need for a lovely stay, whatever the season. Beds comfy and the whole place was spotless. Amble itself is grand- we highly recommend The Lounge Bar for Sunday afternoon acoustic sessions and Friday's Open Mic. Rossini's restaurant is fabulous and we enjoyed the seafood at The Old Boathouse. Plenty of things to explore locally- we enjoyed the fact that Amble is on a good bus route, including regular trips to Alnmouth and Alnwick. Also highly recommend a trip to beautiful Cragside. Cannot wait to return :)

Beautiful well thought out holiday property.

Very well equipped with everything you could think of. More than enough space for 5 of us. A great base for exploring the NE coast, with restaurants and shops nearby. Our children loved the park, which is a 2 minute walk away. The coastal path is also very close by with lovely views and quiet beaches. Highly recommended.

Brilliant cottage and location, all amenities catered for.

Only slight downside is no designated parking space.

We are annual visitors to amble and this time our party size was smaller so we chose silversands to stay in.

The website images looked great but to say we were 'gobsmacked' when we went in was and understatement! This place is absolutely beautifully decorated and well equipped throughout. Loved the little back yard too with table and chairs, room to dry clothes and a tap to wash the sand off our feet. Extremely close to the little shore beach and only a short walk to town and the play area. This is definitely one of the best cottages we've stayed in. Our thanks to Michelle and Aaron for helping to make our week there a special one.

Fantastic cottage in handy location to the harbour.

Very clean and everything was so well thought out. Finally found accommodation where the owner had thought about guests needs, simple things like having lots of hooks for hanging clothes, towels etc. Kitchen had everything you needed too. The welcome hamper was a nice touch. Parking can be a bit tricky at times as it's a popular location especially on a sunny weekend, but other than that it's brilliant. Definitely will be back.

Owner sorted problem with flickering light bulb on stairs very quickly even though it was a Bank Holiday. Ideal location for walking to several good cafes/restaurants in Amble.

Silversands is a fabulous cottage!

We have never stayed anywhere so clean and well equipped before! And the generous welcome pack was very much appreciated after a long journey! A home from home, so spacious and comfortable, we can’t recommend this place enough. A 5-10 minute stroll from your door to two little bays where doggies can come off and have a dip in the sea, or a pleasant 15-20min stroll to the larger Amble Links Beach also dog friendly all year round! Lots of great places to eat and drink in Amble, pod shops on the harbour and short drives to other stunning beaches and villages along this gorgeous coastline! Thanks for having us!

Silversands is in an ideal location to amble seafront, town and local walks.

It is beautifully furnished it neutral tones and has lovely comfy sofas and beds. It was well equipped for everything we needed for our weeks stay. The welcome pack was much appreciated and a lovely touch. Can't wait to return!

We had a fantastic few days at Silversands Cottage.

It was a very well equipped, clean, comfy cottage in a perfect location. Great for my dogs as had enclosed back area, safe to let them out. A little welcome box of goodies was a lovely touch. We had some lovely days out, Amble harbour (5 minute walk) with lovely fish n chips, Cresswell, Duridge Bay Country Park, Warkworth, Craster and Alnwick. All a short drive away.

We love Amble and the location of this cottage is ideal, just a short walk to the beach and all the town facilities.

Nice clean and spacious and warm cottage with all you need at hand. Lovely log burning stove.

Amble is a great centre, with it's harbour village and good eating places, especially for seafood. Silversands is an ideal place to stay. This was the second time we have stayed at Silversands and it really is a fantastic property.

It's very well equipped with everything you need and is in absolutely immaculate condition. There was coffee, tea and a bottle of wine on arrival which was a lovely touch. We have stayed in many holiday rentals but this is easily the best and I cannot find any issues with it at all. Highly recommended!

A lovely cottage which was very clean, well-equipped and comfortable, close to all amenities including a nice little beach.

Note, though, that dogs are not allowed on the beach between May and September although there are many beautiful dog friendly beaches close by. The cottage contains everything needed for a super holiday in a lovely (very dog friendly) town.

The house was delightful, well equiped and in a quiet area.

Parking too was not a problem and buses were close by for going to starts of walks and nearby attractions. Among the very best holiday cottages stayed at - highly recommended.

Lovely cottage in ideal location, thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I will start with my personal negative which is the cottage is not really dog friendly, no dogs upstairs, fair enough there was a stair gate, no dogs on furniture, this proved extremely difficult as there was nowhere to shut him in, no door on kitchen.

So had to sleep on sofa until he had settled. I’d say dogs have been on sofa because I lost something down the side and yuck it was gross! I always take covers and do respect these properties are someone’s investment. I wouldn’t mind paying a charge for my dog. We always clean before we leave. The cottage was lovely though, well equipped and in a great location. I would recommend it to people without pets unless yours is not a sofa surfer.

Every thing about the accommodation is fine . A great central place for visiting beautiful Northumberland for us. We had problem with the shower was reported and the owners dealt with it immediately, nice friendly people . The only criticism I have is that parking could be a problem in high season. There is a car park just round the corner and a yearly pass can be bought for the property , after chatting to local neighbour.

Well located only 5 mins from beach and harbour/town centre with lots of dog friendly pubs and restaurants. Home from home with everything you need. Lots of lively long coastal walks and would recommend the Fish Shack for fantastic food and a warm welcome

Silversands Cottage is a very good holiday property in a perfect location.

The electronic door lock is brilliant, meaning everyone can come and go as they please. The property was spotless and very well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. We would highly recommend Silversands Cottage.

Clear instructions before we went.

Great welcome pack. Informed of a small repair which was resolved without disturbing us. Loved the clear signage throughout the cottage. The door lock was really useful - it meant we could forget about keys ( no 3 sometimes sticks). Great location Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The keypad entry was very annoying!

Twice it froze and would not work us in! It resolved after a few minutes

The property is stunning and it’s in the ideal location just a few minutes walk away from the beach. We loved the decor, all the storage and the code operated door (no need to remember keys every time you go out). It is also definitely the most well equipped cottage we have stayed in with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen and lots to entertain the kids. We took two cars but had no problems at all with the on street parking. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

Wonderful cottage we had a fantastic time here.

The cottage is very spacious and facilities were excellent and had a lovely little terrace area to enjoy a glass of wine in the evenings. Comfortable beds lovely bath and shower we wouldn’t hesitate to return to this property. Keyless door is a very good idea too. Loved our week at Silversands only downside was having to return home.

Nice cottage, good location, everything available in the cottage that you require for self catering, we found the door locks problematic and gate area in the yard at the back needs a good scrub and disinfecting has a severe stench of dog urine is in this area, even after swilling down, the sofa is sagging in places and really not that comfy but overall we had a good holiday and would recommend the cottage to others,

Great location only five minutes walk from the beach and into Amble. Our two terriers loved it aswell. Had a great stay and have booked again for next year!

It was with three heavy hearts that we drove back down the A1 home.

We had a wonderful time and stay in Amble. The cottage was so gorgeous and relaxing, a real home from home we didn’t want to leave. The location was fabulous. We’ve been coming to Northumberland every year for 4 years and this was by far the best holiday we’ve ever had. So much to see and do. Gorgeous village, friendly locals and so many options for walks without leaving the area. The beaches are beautiful and so very clean. Most are dog friendly all year round. The cliffs top scenery was breath taking. We still have walks we didn’t get chance to do as ran out of days. We loved every minute spent here. The only downside was, it went too quickly. We cannot wait to come back. Thank you so much to the owners for letting us share a little piece of your heaven.

We absolutely loved our stay at the beautiful Silversands cottage.

The decor is gorgeous and it is perfectly situated in lovely Amble, to explore the Northumberland coast and visit stunning historical sites inland too (lots of National trust and National heritage options if you are members). A fabulous holiday in a cottage we hope to return too. Thank you to the hosts for excellent cleanliness and communication and a lovely welcome basket.

Cottage was clean, comfy and brilliantly equipped. Perfect location for beach, park and shops/cafés/restaurants and for trips out. We were very sad to leave and hope to stay again.

Bathroom panel cracked Hand gell has took the paint off the stairs hand tail Tv aerial needs attention This cottage needs deep clean and some TLC Very disappointed we have booked this before it was as described in your website this is no longer the case

Just had a week away in this beautiful terraced house.

It had everything in and was spotles. It was a 5min walk to a grassed area and beach. Would definitely recommend staying here.

The house is close to all the amenities in Amble and not far from other attractions like Alnwick, Alnmouth and Warkworth. We took our dog and she enjoyed Silversands and the beaches too. We would highly recommend The Fish Shack to eat amazing fish ( lots on the specials board) and dog friendly too.

Very good property with clear instructions and advice, how to use the facilities.

The facilities are very good quality, there is no skimping as we have see elsewhere. The property is clean and cared for. It is located near enough to the harbour and to the town centre to walk to, far enough out to avoid difficult to parking or noise (at least in January). The boiler was a bit noisy in the back bedroom, so we slept in the front. This is the only negative and by no means a show stopper. Overall very happy with the property and would stay there again.

This beautiful cottage has been my best experience with Sykes so far.

Beautifully presented, spotlessly clean and extremely well provisioned with new looking crockery, cutlery and glassware it was a real pleasure to stay here and very easy to prepare my own meals etc. The welcome pack is a very thoughtful addition. I really liked that stairgates had been put in to assist keeping dogs downstairs. The outside space is small and paved so my dog couldn't use it for toileting or exercise but this wasn't an issue as there are large, grassy areas about a 90 second walk from the door. It was a real treat to stay at such a lovely cottage with my dog. Location is fantastic, Amble it lovely, the beach at Cresswell is amazing and beautiful Warkworth on the doorstep. I'll definitely recommend this one.

We have stayed in Amble many times including a property a few doors down from this one which left us very dissatisfied.

Silver sands is an amazing property with everything you would need . The owners have spared no expense in ensuring your comfortable stay and it is right next to all amenities with extremely friendly neighbours . We will return .

We have stayed in Amble four times now, and this cottage is far and away the nicest and most comfortable.

It's position in the town is perfect for accessing the fabulous beaches, a short walk to the town centre and all the great eateries, as well as being a fantastic base for exploring the beautiful county of Northumberland.

The cottage was ideal and very comfortable, very convenient for the many places and experiences Northumberland has to offer.

Amble itself is a lovely place with lots of places to eat and shop, our favourite way to end the day was to go for a lovely walk around the harbour, there was always something new to see. The short walk along the river Coquet was gorgeous. This is the second time we have stayed at Amble and our cottage was absolutely perfect. A lovely surprise was the bottle of wine left for us, it was greatly appreciated. We will certainly be returning when we are able. Many Thanks

It seemed like a little bit of normal being able to go away on holiday following the pandemic; things are slowly opening although not everything so far. The weather was kind to us after being informed what the weather was like at home! We will definitely be returning!

Beds very comfortable, so much so, my friend wanted to bring her mattress home. Centrally planned to explore the surrounding areas and a few minutes walk to a small beach. Secure entry system so you didn't need to worry about losing a key and a lovely back yard to sit in, in warmer weather. Will definitely book again (sadly already booked up on my next holiday date next year). Easily the nicest cottage I've stayed in over the last 5 years!

We were there for Christmas week and were delighted to find a beautifully decorated Christmas tree and an amazingly generous welcome package. The owners have thought of everything and gone the extra mile to provide great quality.

Very comfortable cottage with everything you need for a great holiday.

It is in an excellent location with beach, harbour, shops etc all close to hand. This was our second visit and will definitely not be our last.

Everything was perfect with the cottage.

We've stayed in several other cottages that claim to be family friendly - but this was without doubt by far the best and the owners had quite clearly carefully considered what families with young children need. One slight niggle would be the key code door - it's quite noisy - the fact it talks to you every time you open and close it. But that's being very picky! The level of information we received was great - will definitely be using Sykes Cottages again.

The proximity to the beach and centre of Amble - we have friends that live around the corner as well so it was sited really well.

The cottage was well equipped and a welcome pack was left for us which was great. We would definitely go back and recommend to others. The only thing negative was the washer didn't work and there was a drains smell when you ran the taps or flushed the toilet but this didn't detract from our enjoyment.

Amble is a lovely town with great amenities and is a great base for further exploration of the North East. We had a lovely time!

We absolutely loved the cottage the Wellcome pack was most appreciated it was home from home.

The beach and play ground at the end of the street was ideal for our young grand kids thanks so much we had a great time.

There should be more visable information about cancellation.

I wanted to re arrange this holiday due to a family issue but was told that a large percentage of the cost would be retained if I did and I could not afford for that to happen and then pay for another holiday. The cottage was lovely though.

Plenty to see in the area and scenery is beautiful. Amble is an interesting town - could have done with more choice of restaurants/pubs.

This is a really lovely cottage and so close to the sea.

We had some very bad weather during our stay but it was great to have such a nice, cosy place to come back to after getting soaked walking the dog. Amble is a great little town and we can't wait to come back, staying at Silversands of course.

A lovely welcoming property close to the harbour in Amble.

It was in a good position to use as a base exploring the Northumberland coast. We went out on the boat trip run by Puffin Cruises to Coquet Island where there were a variety of birds including puffins, roseate teens and seals. We also saw a pod of dolphins. We also visited Bamburgh Castle, Alnwick gardens and some National Trust properties. The weather could have been better but the cottage was warm and well equipped and a comfortable place to come back to after each day out.

House was a home from home.

Very comfortable and heating when needed. Kitchen had everything we needed plus lots of mugs so we could wait till the dish washer was full before washing a load. Beds were very comfortable. House very near the sea front and a lovely walk around the pier.

What a wonderful cottage and location.

The owners were just so helpful when we asked for they're advice. We didn't want to leave we had a great time. Would love to go back x

Silversands Cottage is a really comfortable and cosy house and was just perfect for us. It is close to the shops, the beach, the pier, the harbour, everything! Amble itself, is a great location and has all the shops you need and everyone is so friendly. This was not my first visit and will definitely not be my last. Just love it

The cottage was in a great location near the beach and local amenieties and suited our 3 generation family group with dogs so well.

Extremely well equipped. Nice welcome pack was a lovely surprise . Great position close to the beach , small co-op and local paper shop close by. Amble is a very friendly town with a good selection of shops, cafes and places to eat . Will definitely return

Fabulous accommodation.

Everything that you needed had been thought of. The welcome pack was just what you need after a long day traveling. No need to worry about shopping for milk, bread etc. This was our second visit, and will hopefully be back again.

Think it should be made clearer just how small & enclosed the rear courtyard is.

Totally unsuitable for dogs & not a very nice space to sit in, no sunshine reaches in as walls are so tall & it was full of bird mess. We tried to have a bbq but it wasn't a nice area to have it in.

Silver sands cottage is an extremely comfortable and well equipped property.

It is situated in a beautiful and unspoiled part of the uk which hosts spectacular sandy beaches; stunning scenery with plenty of lovely places to visit. Northumberland certainly welcomes our four legged companions as many places allowed dogs. Will certainly visit again!

Silversands Cottage was perfect!

It had everything in it that you could possibly need and was beautifully decorated throughout. The woodburner was lovely and cosy on an evening! The location was ideal for exploring the Northumberland coast or for a quiet walk on the beach just a couple of minutes away. A fabulous break!

Sliversands cottage is excellent.

Fabulous location near to the harbour and gorgeous sandy beaches only 3 miles away in Alnmouth. The cottage is very comfortable, clean, facilities are expectional. The added bonus of a smart tv was great, whilst returning to the cottage in an evening to relax and unwind with the roaring log burner. The owners had thought of everything and the kitchen had every untilsil you needed. Amble is a lovely friendly village, and perfect to explore Northumberland. We will definitely return to sliversands. A five star holiday, that we didn't want to end. Carl & Janet

Silversands Cottage exceeded expectations.

True that's it's recently been renovated and everything is new, but the cottage is so cozy and well equipped, a gorgeous fire and just round the corner from a pretty beach where dogs are welcome in winter. We spent Christmas there and the owners went to the extra trouble of a beautiful Xmas tree, a hamper and lovely decorations.We loved this place and will return.

Silversands Cottage is the 4th Sykes cottage we have stayed in the area over the last 4 years.

This cottage is the nicest cottage so far, it felt very relaxing, comfortable & we settled straight away, as did our dog Lucca. It is very warm & cosy, the heating system works efficiently to keep the cottage warm & welcoming in the evening when returning back at the cottage. The beds are amazingly comfy and we slept very well. The cottage was spotless, and easy to keep clean and tidy, very well designed. The smart TV & WiFi made our stay in the evenings active, whilst sitting with our tired dog after our walks on the beaches. The kitchen was very well equipped, because we have food allergies and our dog on holiday with us, we tend to eat in and cook our evening meals. The only thing it lacked was a grabrail on the bath wall to support transfers into the bath and for use of the overbath shower, as the bath is deep to step in and out. The owners Aaron & Michelle were very supportive, they contacted us to ensure we'd got the door lock number and to confirm if we had any issues or difficulty with the electric lock mechanism, to ring them back. The lock was fine and not difficult to use on our arrival. We have just 're booked to return to Silversands Cottage at Amble in February 2017 and always book our cottage through Sykes.

A beautifully appointed cottage - the loveliest we've stayed in so far.

Lots of little touches to make it a real home from home - couldn't fault it. We loved Amble, it's a great place to stay with lots of lovely walks, places to eat and very dog friendly which is important to us. We'll definitely be back.

Everything you could possibly need. Very clean . I actually looked forward to going 'home' after busy days out in a lovely area. Would strongly recommend this property.
