    “Yes, the cottage is well situated and at first glance appears clean and well maintained.”

    However ( pictures can be provided ) the mattress in the middle bedroom ( wooden bed ) has very much seen better days, I stay in around 4 cottages a year and this one is the worst I’ve stayed in mainly due to the bed. Mattress has partially collapsed at the edges and is also soiled, although this was covered with a topper. The bathroom was also very tired and most annoyingly the plug had to be taken out using a sharp kitchen knife or leave a bath full of water. The doors in the middle bedroom ...

The doors in the middle bedroom are jammed shut and will not open, thus no ventilation and also a potential fire risk. In the lounge the what maybe cream / beige rug is grafted and should really be changed or at the least cleaned. I know it’s a dog friendly property , and I always book dog friendly cottages, a little attention to detail goes a long way. The cottage kitchen is a farmhouse style with no kicking boards, underneath the units the state of cleanliness was very poor. I do fully intend to complain formally which sadly is not something I ever do. I intend to post this review to online platforms with supporting pictures, the cost of uk holidays are not cheap and the very least people should expect is to have a restful comfortable night. Final point the cottage has had a very nice pale grey composite door fitted , it looks lovely !, maybe replace the mattresses and sort the bath as this is what guests appreciate more. The week wasn’t a complete fail as the sun shone and we could use the small rear garden which was actually quite nice.

    Thank your for your feedback. I am pleased you enjoyed the outside space and the weather was kind to you. Thank you for noting that the bedroom patio doors were jammed , I have instructed a window fitter to attend to this and this should be resolved soon. In regards to the kitchen , the design is freestanding and therefore has no kick boards. Thank you sharing the information about the bath tub plug, this has never been brought to my attention by any other visitor , I will take a look at this to see if it is a technical problem that can be resolved. The bathroom itself is fitted with a Roca bathroom suite and shower, the tiles on the floor and wall are natural Jerusalem stone. Thank you for noting the information about edge of the mattress and suggesting to replace . At present the mattress has both a thick mattress topper and a protective cover on it before the bedding is put on. Thank you for sharing your concerns about the rug, the rug is 100%wool and has a natural beige / brown fleck running through it . As we are a dog friendly cottage the rug is washed regularly with a carpet cleaner . Property Owner

Reach the cottage via a country lane, arriving to designated parking, before making your way indoors to reach the fully-equipped kitchen/diner, complete with bespoke, wooden cabinetry and a variety of appliances to make your stay easier.
