“Our stay was everything we expected and had a lovely family time despite the weather.”

The cottage was very comfortable and clean which we were so pleased about, it had everything thing in you’d want and an abundance if cups / mugs lol , an extra bathroom would have made it perfect as with 6 adults it takes a while for everyone to get sorted, its a lovely homely cottage with good decor and amazing views of the castle. The only set backs we had was the doggie smell in the conservatory it is very strong and on a sunny day i think it could be intense but we had our dog with us ...

The only set backs we had was the doggie smell in the conservatory it is very strong and on a sunny day i think it could be intense but we had our dog with us and it was the place he slept so can’t say to much on the subject. A few flies were a but if an issue in kitchen area not sure why as its a bit late in the year for flies but thought we should mention it ! Parking was an issue as we all had cars and the locals were a bit off with us till they knew we had the permits and were staying at the Cottage. Apart from the few gripes we would definitely book it again it had a lovely feel to it and we were very happy with our welcome packs it makes a nice touch receiving them, thank you. Willy.

About the location

BAMBURGH

Seahouses 3.5 miles; Beadnell 5.1 miles; Alnwick 16.9 miles.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.
