The Carrawburgh Suite is set in the village of Wark, adjacent to the River North Tyne in Northumberland, and is a family, pet-friendly, two-bedroom apartment. With off-road parking for one car, this property is positioned close to nearby shops and pubs and is the ideal base for family or friends looking to explore this area and the Northumberland National Park. Step into the open plan living area and relax on the velvet L-shaped sofa in front of the feature black lead range fitted out with a cosy log burner. Relax with family or friends by playing board games or watching films on the Smart TV. Prepare a meal in the fully equipped kitchen area with an electric oven and hob, fridge, and microwave, and sit down to enjoy a glass or two at the dining table while making plans for the holiday. Alternatively, a car trip north will take you into the wonderful Kielder Forest Park, where you can embark on a hike through Hareshaw Linn Waterfall, roam the grounds of the Vindolanda, and even get up close and personal with birds of prey at the Falconry Days safari park. Wark is a delightful village surrounded by beautiful unspoilt Northumbrian countryside, on the edge of the National Park. Wark offers much of interest, including shops, a gothic style church and good quality restaurants. Hadrian’s Wall and Housesteads Fort are nearby, whilst the market town of Hexham is a ten mile drive and is well worth a visit, with its narrow bustling streets, good selection of shops and a fascinating abbey boasting 15th century paintings and a fine Saxon crypt. The Border Country, Northumbrian coast, Kielder Forest with cycling and watersports, Beamish Open Air Museum and Durham Cathedral are all within easy motoring distance, while the Gateshead Metro Centre (one of the largest shopping centres in Europe) can be reached within an hour. Suitable for year-round holidays, this unspoilt area with its fishing, horse riding, abundant wildlife and superb walking country is a nature lover’s dream.
