“We loved our week’s stay in Upper Alnbank!”

The flat was lovely and even with six adults and a baby the flat always felt spacious and light. We were worried about parking beforehand but it turned out to be no problem at all. We always found a space in the street to use with the permit and were always able to park our other cars just a couple of minutes away on the beach road (we went in July). As golfers, being able to walk from the flat to the first tee on the Alnmouth Village course in a few minutes was a particular treat! Loved ...

“Really nice place spotlessly clean everything you need and well planned kitchen.”

As an asthmatic and being allergic to dogs I didn’t like seeing a dog mat or dog towels but again they were spotless and towels away and in a sealed bag. - be better without them there for people without dogs. Great quantity of mugs. Quick tip for an instant upgrade-lose the random shop plastic coat hangers and get all matching wooden or felt. Perfect location. Great place

“Loved our stay.”

Our fourth time staying in Upper Alnbank. It’s a lovely place, but could do with a few tweaks here and there. The leather sofa is needing replaced and the blinds, which keep getting hooked on the window fittings, really need updating. That said, it has all you need for a comfortable enjoyable holiday. Hope to be back :)

“A lovely property with really good furnishings,kitchen equipment, crockery and utensils.”

Open plan kitchen,lounge and dinining area was a highlight of the property as was the excellent bathroom/shower room beside the main bedroom. Property inside was beautifully clean but entrance to property shared with property downstairs needs tidying. Blinds in property tended to stick and need some attention to facilitate easier opening and closing. Double beds were a bit on the tight side if used to sleeping in a king size bed. Parking permit was essential and beware of parking enforcement officers who visited at 07.20 hrs on Saturday morning and issued parking fines!! We really enjoyed our stay and would be happy to come back to Upper Alnbank.

“We had a very happy time staying in Upper Alnbank.”

The property is decorated beautifully and equipped with everything you could possibly need for a 'home away from home' holiday. The set up is very dog friendly with a large hall to wipe down and remove the sand before heading up to the apartment. We are regular visitors to Alnmouth and we will be recommending Upper Alnbank as a great place to stay to friends and family. I am looking at dates already for a return visit!

“We really loved staying in the property, the bedrooms were all comfy, the kitchen well stocked and the heated bathroom floors were a treat!”

The location is excellent, with the beach just round the corner we really enjoyed our walks here, it helped we were lucky with the weather! The guest book was really helpful for cafe/restaurant suggestions, and we tried to fit in as many as we could (apologies for not adding our own entry, as we up the road before we remebered).

“Our third time staying in this house and second in the upper apartment so you can draw your own conclusions from that!”

It's pleasing that we can continue to stay here without the owner having hiked the rent unreasonably as some others seem to have done. We feel very home at home here. It is really spacious and comfortable, and unusually well-equipped. Parking now works well since the permit scheme was introduced.

The property (from a fire risk perspective- also of one was unable to find keys on the inside in event of fire) A different lock would be safer It is lovely though

“Hello. Since my son moved to Newcastle we’ve enjoyed exploring the coast with regular holiday bookings.”

I’m looking for the ideal place to rent. I wish to complain. Firstly, there was a lot of noise from builders vehicles from 7.30am onwards each morning. Secondly, the plug in the first floor bathroom was jammed and the sink didn’t drain. I reported the plug to the owner and NCCC but nothing was done. I’d taken my 96-year-old mother for a short break and these problems were very distressing for her. Please will you offer compensation as we may well book accommodation again in Alnmouth or nearby? We are genuinely sorry you had inconveniences during your stay, I'm afraid we have no control over building work taking place nearby. Regarding the sink issue and your request for compensation Im afraid that as you booked a short mid week break at a discounted rate there is simply no flexibility on costs. “Upper alnbank really was fantastic for us.”

The property was alot bigger than we were expecting and was finished to a high standard. Loved the bit in the welcome pack about the ww2 history of the street and building. Also the pictures of the renovation of the property were great.

Only a 2 minute walk from the sandy beach, bay and estuary and all the village amenities. FIRST FLOOR Living/dining area open plan with flat screen TV/DVD and open to kitchen. Alnwick 4 miles.

Situated just 4 miles east of Alnwick, Alnmouth is a charming resort popular with golfers and those seeking a peaceful holiday. The village lies on a narrow spit of land between the River Aln and the North Sea and was originally the port for Alnwick. Nowadays the area has returned to its unspoilt origins and offers a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as an excellent “links” golf course and some great rivers for fishing, as well as boasting miles and miles of splendid beaches and sand dunes to explore which afford stunning views of the North Sea.
