“A lovely and well equipped cottage with a friendly feel and great wildlife.”
The rooms are spacious, with comfortable beds and sofas. You might have to slant to one side when upstairs and in the bathroom, but it all makes for the beauty of this quirky place.
As stated this property is isolated and it is very isolated as far as pubs and shops go. Because the access is down the single track lane with many pot holes, the 2 miles to a shop feels like 5. We also visited when the pubs had not fully opened due to Covid restrictions, so eating out was not possible locally and we couldn't find anywhere doing takeaway. Fortunately we went prepared for this and it is very easy to prepare meals in the well equipped kitchen. We would definitely recommend taking some food with you.
The welcome pack was lovely with scones, bread, milk and butter and the wine a lovely treat too.
The dogs loved the enclosed garden, which is very safe for them to explore.
The only thing missing was an area to sit and enjoy the wildlife or read outside (not that we had the weather to do that, but it was noticeable). The picnic table is in a shaded area away from the lovely views. Sometimes you want to sit back and relax in a chair with the views or a book or a glass of something, not sit forwards at that type of table. A minor point, but we would have missed this opportunity given better weather.
