“Compass cottage is a lovely, exceptionally clean, well appointed home in a quiet location.”
There is everything you need; a lovely bathroom with two shower heads, comfortable beds, dining room, well equipped kitchen and a comfortable lounge with a good TV with apps. There is a wood burning stove in the lounge although we didn't use it during our stay. The garden is very dog friendly, stones (no mud) and secure. There is a rear gate onto a field for walks and many other walks from the doorstep (details of some are in the cottage). Other well thought out highlights are the outside tap with short hose for rinsing dog paws or wellies before leaving them on the welly stand. The rear garden (and hose) can be accessed from the front via a side gate (no mud through the cottage).
We met Paul (our host) on arrival, he is very friendly, explained everything we needed to know and had left us a welcome pack including treats for our dog, Bella. Paul also made sure we were alright during our stay by text, he even rang to say there was no rush to leave by normal check out time due to cleaning being slightly later. This is a fantastic cottage with great hosts, ideal for a quiet getaway or exploring the nearby north east coastline (Berwick-upon-Tweed, Seahouses, Alnwick, Bamburgh etc.).
Wooler is a historic little town with pubs, co-op, newsagents, antique shops, butchers, dog friendly cafe and more. It is an ideal place to base for a Northumberland break and Compass Cottage is perfect for your stay.
Victoria it was lovely to meet you and Rob, thanks for your lovely feedback, so glad you enjoyed the cottage, the local area and amazing coastline here in Northumberland -
