Lobster Pot Retreat, was a perfect base to explore the region.

It had everything you need for a comfortable stay. The welcome pack was a very nice touch. Parking was not a problem. Had a space outside the house every time. Would definitely use again.

A good, well presented house in the location sought - for a mixture of business and pleasure.

I would happily book it again. When the shower started blocking the owner responded quickly and helpfully. The only minor points were: The position of the bathroom mirror over the toilet rather than the basin The oven was not a fan assisted one (this affects both grilling, and cooking times) but there was an air fryer The kitchen knives were a bit blunt - a common issue with holiday homes (which is why I always take one of my own!)

Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property.

Very clean, modern decor with plenty of storage space in bedrooms and kitchen. Owners helpful and easy to contact and had included a well- stocked welcome pack. No problem parking outside. As elderly visitors we would have liked a non-slip shower mat.

We found the cottage to be very clean and comfortable.

It's situated in a nice quiet area, I would recommend this holiday property without hesitation.

Just a few things for concern, stair is very steep, hit my head on the celling. There is a gap in the floor in the bathroom and some silivon required at the back of the Kitchen sink. Shortage of mugs and glasses. Overall quite happy though.

We found the cottage to be light and spacious.

The welcome hamper was a nice touch. We had some issues with the front door lock being stuck but we sorted that. The owners we quick to sort out a blown fuse. The cottage is 2 minutes walk from the sea front. We enjoyed our stay

Accommodation close to all amenities and few hundred yards from the lovely beach.

The Lobster Pot Retreat is very tastefully decorated. Very comfortable, homely , calm . Think the word Retreat says it all. Very well equipped. Great starting location for exploring the surrounding areas. The welcome pack was a lovely thought. 10 out of 10.

A lovely, comfortable and clean property.

Always got parked outside the door. An easy mainly flat walk to the main street. Would recommend the property. Enjoyed food at the Needles Cafe and Cafe Bertonelli.

Property very modern and clean with big rooms but found the 3 piece suite uncomfortable unfortunately , but the bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable .

The shower was lovely but needed a shelf for toiletries as nowhere to put them and the mirror was over the toilet but would be more appropriate over the sink. Had an airer for any washing but if it was in the garden and windy it blew off so a few pegs would be advisable. But the area of the property was perfect very quiet always had a parking spot outside the property, nice neighbours and the sea just over the road 2 minutes with a long long promenade. I would recommend. Thank you.

Very high quality interior fittings and decoration.

All you need to prepare home living. A credit to the owners. A few small issues no soap holder in shower and could not understand why mirror in bathroom is over the toilet and not the sink. This would not stop us returning superb accommodation and the welcome pack was most appreciated.

Lovely holiday cottage in a quiet residential area just 5 minutes walk from the beach.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable and had everything needed for an enjoyable stay. Roadside parking was always available. Welcome pack appreciated. We enjoyed exploring the area.

Very nice location, cottage very close to the Sea/Beach , lovely walk along the promenade ,some good shops / pubs/ coffee stops all close by .

We where lucky to see dolphins jumping and a seal at the end of the prom near the caravans . Whitley Bay and St Margaret’s Lighthouse is a lovely place to visit with a nice walkway to the lighthouse when the tide is out . Parking was always available outside the house and nice friendly neighbours .

Gorgeous property.

Very peaceful. Very clean. Welcome pack was a lovely touch. Beds Very comfy. Couldn't enjoy garden much as parasol was all ripped and was too sunny to sit outside without it which was a shame (look at replacing it ) and pictures show reclining chairs but these are electric and no plugs so just normal armchairs so not very relaxing after a long day's walking but apart from these minor details a lovely house and would highly recommend

Excellent accommodation in an ideal location for visiting Northumbria.

10min drive to Ashington Station for a 35min stress free train ride to Newcastle Central.

Lovely cottage in a great location.

Pub 1min walk, beach 2min walk and town centre 10min beach walk.

Nice well kept property, very clean.

Comfy bed, good shower, good wifi, nice outside area at the back ( didnt use it as weather in March not that warm), quiet road easy parking outside house, everything we needed was in the house, nice welcome basket on arrival. Good location , loved the area, had a really enjoyable week.

Lobster Pot Retreat was a perfect haven to return to after a day out exploring Northumberland.

The house is beautiful with everything you need for a stay away from home. The property is a credit to the owners and their cleaner. We would love to return as there is still so much more for us to see in the area. Would recommend a stay here to anyone visiting Northumberland.

This was a welcome return visit to the Lobster Pot Retreat.

Newbiggin by the Sea is still one of our favourite places to stay when visiting family in the area and the Lobster Pot Retreat is one of the best value for money places that we have stayed. Clean, warm and cosy and very well equipped. Nice welcome pack Easy short walk to the beach and local facilities. Parking easy right outside We will certainly be back if we can find a week when it is free.

Good location. The property would benefit from a mirror over the sink in the bathroom and a hook to hang the towel at the end of the shower. The welcome pack was appreciated. A comfortable well equipped property. We have stayed in several Sykes cottages and this was up there as one of the best value for money

A lovely house, warm and welcoming, with everything we needed for comfortable stay in Newbiggin by the Sea.

A large well equipped kitchen diner, comfortable beds, a modern bathroom and TVs in every room. Nothing had been forgotten in the house which is just across the road from the beach and a short walk from the Town Centre. We would certainly stay there again.

Really good accommodation. Welcome pack is a lovely touch. Love the fact the towels are bath sheets. The kitchen is fantastic, so well kitted out. Providing washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and washer tablets is really thoughtful. Comfy beds although the pillows are too soft for me personally as i need support. Living spaces all comfortable. Everything was immaculately clean on arrival. Would use again and recommend.

2 nd visit to Lobster Pot this time with family, A clean large family house with all the facilities you need for a good holiday .

Parking was good as neighbours are very friendly and left the spaces for us . Beds very comfortable, Beach only a short walk away Discovery Museum in Newcastle excellent ( free entry and easy parking ) Bamburgh Castle is a must to visit Thank you for a really goood ( the best we’ve had ) welcome pack. We shall be back , many thanks to you , your cleaners are a credit to you .

Very well equipped for making a homemade meal in the kitchen if you don't want to eat out. Thank you so much for the very generous welcome basket and toiletries, such a lovely touch. The cottage is perfectly situated in a lovely traditional unspoilt seaside town with some nice places to eat, plus great takeaways and bakery. There are so many beautiful places to visit along the coastline of Northumberland. It was our first visit but we will definitely be returning. Thank you so much

First class property that met all of our holiday needs, we'll positioned not only to Newbiggin beach but also the castle and coast area of northen Northumberland

Very quiet , the cottage is lovely through out, the hamper and other bits and pieces was a nice touch thank you.

New biggin is a nice place, enjoyed walking by the sea and it was easy to get to places we planned to visit, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

When we arrived no key in keysafe.

Called caretaker, no reply so left message. Tried to contact you to advise us of our next move, however no phone number was given. Our only option was a what’s app chat that acknowledged our query but no more. Very poor service. We had to sit outside the property in torrential rain for one hour, not knowing whether to find alternative accommodation or wait for your reply. Eventually a key holder turned up, not a great first impression.

We did stay here last year also ( that tells you a story) Very good on both occasions This year we travelled south towards Blyth, Whitley Bay, North Tyneside.

The property is very good and spacious for the 2 of us We do walk most evenings to the front and drop down the slope and around the bay The local shops were adequate for our needs and also when eating out Thank you again

Nice quiet location 2 minutes from beach.

No issues with parking outside the property. Property was very clean, well presented and pleasantly decorated. There was a welcome pack and small toiletries pack which is a lovely touch. Great kitchen and shower was great. The main bedroom is massive with plenty of storage. Tv’s in all the bedrooms as well as lounge and kitchen. Bathroom layout a little awkward with vanity sink and radiator near door. We didn’t find the bed and sofa comfy but that’s down to personal preference. Only seating for 4 in lounge (although extra chair in single bedroom off the lounge could be moved). We would have liked a larger sofa ! We didn’t use the outside sofa due to the weather but this will be great in the summer. The property heating controls were easy to use heated up the rooms quickly. Overall we would recommend this property and we enjoyed our stay

The property was extremely clean and well maintained, the welcome pack was a nice touch.

I found the bed rather too hard for my comfort but I'm sure it would be perfect for someone else. It is a pity that the reclining chairs and sofa don't and that the bathroom mirror is above the toilet not the basin. The shower is excellent and the kitchen well equipped.

This property was amazing.

Maintain to a very high standard. Would go to this property again. Near to the bus stop didn't use the car very often. The house was beautifully furnished and very comfortable.

There were just a couple of minor things that would make it even better. Move the mirror over the toilet? and re-position over the sink. A washer/drier would be helpful there’s no facility inside or outside to dry clothes. A little night light on the landing would be good.

This is a lovely property, lovely location very close to the sea front, very comfortable and clean and has everything you need for a self catering break, the welcome box is a very nice addition when you arrive.

Great place to stay.

The only things we could find any fault with were the bathroom mirror which should be over the basin and the square toilet seat did not fit our oval bums.

We had a lovely week in the house.

It’s well furnished, clean and well thought out. We were worried about parking but we could always park within 50 yards of the house. Short walk to a shop, and the beach front. TVs in the bedrooms were useful, as was the little touches like the gift basket. Lovely base for a beautiful part of the country.

The location is great - about 5 minutes walk from the beach (or less than that, perhaps). Newbiggin is a nice seaside village which has everything we needed for a short visit. It's also a great location for exploring that bit of the Northumberland coast. The beach is lovely and the bay provides safe swimming (and some other watersports) for those who are into that.

The house was modern and clean with a lovely welcome pack.

Beds were very comfortable but think pillows need changing. Bathroom walk in shower was great the only let down in there was the missing mirror over sink why over toilet cistern? Husband found it hard to shave and I also really missed it. Kitchen a dream lounge also lovely and comfortable just wires missing for recliner chairs which would of been handy to put up feet after a days outing. Overall had a lovely comfortable stay and if in the area again would definitely stay here. Also parking was never a problem.

Great accommodation, exceptionally clean!

It would be good if the bathroom mirror was not over the toilet a minor inconvenience for my husband as he was unable to shave! Area great for touring Northumberland. No issues with parking .A great few days away.

Beautiful house.

We felt very comfortable there. Friendly neighbours. Loved the area and will highly recommend to family and friends. It was well situated to get to many of the sites we wanted to visit. Would definitely stay there again if we revisited that area.

Spot on with very clean presentation.

Couple of minor suggestions. Beautifull furniture. Shame recliners didnt work. Small tables for placing your cuppa on instead of the floor. Town itself has an amazing promenade which we walked a lot. Then the dissapointment of the town. Pubs not serving food. Pubs closed. Had Indian, fabulous. Two visits. Okay Italian. Went twice. No atmosphere. Only couple in on one visit.

This was a really lovely holiday home, very comfortable very clean we enjoyed our stay.

Only drawbacks ….. nearly all the internal doors squeaked very loudly and annoyingly, a can of WD40 would have sorted this. Surely the cleaner must have been aware of this problem. And the other problem was that there was nowhere to hang wet towels after showering. There was only two of us so we hung them over the shower panel, not ideal. The mirror over the toilet was very strange when there was ample room over the sink.

Had everything we needed for our stay. Comfortable beds, plenty towels, loads of storage space. Spotlessly clean on arrival. Plenty parking on the street at the front. Short walk to the promenade. A great base to use for visiting family and friends after my move away from the North East last year. Thank you.

A nice recently refurbished semi detached property close to the beach.

Easy on street parking and lovely friendly neighbours. Situated in a quiet crescent. Comfortable front room , shame the recliner’s didn’t work. Well equipped kitchen diner. Bedrooms pleasantly furnished and nice comfortable beds . Good bathroom with a lovely shower. Well positioned for exploring Northumberland.

Many thanks Nicola and Chris for a wonderful stay in the delightful Lobster Pot Retreat. The lovely welcoming pack was a kind gesture. It is a beautiful property with very attractive decor and soft furnishings, comfy beds, an excellent shower, and friendly neighbours either side. With only a two minute walk to the front, it is a great location. We had some great nature sightings at Church point including a glimpse of a Minke Whale and many wader birds. We really enjoyed the food at The Endeavour cafe, and our favourite meal was at Due Fratelli ( Italian) which was superb. Hope to return soon. Chris and Meryl from Derby
