    “Had an absolutely lovely long weekend with friends at Rosedale House.”

    The property was perfect for the needs of our group and felt like a proper 'home from home' - a warm and welcoming space where we could all relax together in the evening after days out exploring the coast. The location is perfect - just a short stroll across the green, down to the sea or 5 minutes walk into the town centre.     The property was perfect for the needs of our group and felt like a proper 'home from home' - a warm and welcoming space where we could all relax together in the evening after days out exploring the coast. The location is perfect - just a short stroll across the green, down to the sea or 5 minutes walk into the town centre. The rooms and communal spaces are comfortable and the kitchen is very well-stocked with utensils and crockery - plenty of space for cooking dinner for five. We would definitely rent this property again. The only reason we haven't given it 5 stars is because the lighting in the kitchen is a little bit too dim and that made it difficult to see when cooking. Unfortunately the light in the over-hob extractor also wasn't working. I'm sure this is less of a problem in the summer when there's plenty of natural light but in winter we were mainly cooking after dark, so a bit of extra wattage would have been very useful! I've said 'no' to publishing the feedback, mainly because I didn't want our complaint about the kitchen lighting to be published. It was a minor issue in what was otherwise a really great stay.

We recently changed the lights in the kitchen, but its obviously not working too well. Rosedale House is a large, stone built terraced property, a perfect family holiday home set over three floors and is located in a peaceful position, just a stone’s throw from the unspoilt beaches of ‘The Friendliest Port’, Amble. The property is presented to a high standard and gives light and spacious accommodation which oozes charm and character throughout. Ideally suited for family gatherings or groups of friends holidaying together, this dog-friendly cottage offers a true Northumbrian retreat where you can kick back and relax! Amble, known as the friendliest port which is a small fishing town with a huge personality. Nestled on the Northumberland coast, it's an excellent base for a holiday in our beautiful county. Take a boat trip from the bustling harbour to Coquet Island, a RSPB nature reserve located just off the coast, and see the colourful puffins, rare roseate terns and appealing grey seals. Back on dry land, stroll around the attractive harbour shopping pods selling bespoke and unusual gifts and why not sample the culinary delights of freshly caught seafood and local produce at The Old Boat House or Sea&Soil bistro's - both local favourites. ACCOMMODATION GROUND FLOOR Entrance hall. Lounge with comfy seating, TV, DVD and feature fireplace (not for use). Large kitchen / dining room with gas oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave and dining table and chairs for 6 guests. FIRST FLOOR Bedroom 1 with king-size bed. About the location

AMBLE

Warkworth 1 mile; Alnmouth 4 miles.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.
