The property

Woodlea is a fabulous, three-story home located in a rural area of West Fleetham, close to Seahouses, in Northumberland. Woodlea provides a homely base for a self-catered stay for seven guests, whilst boasting views of the nearby woodlands and a peaceful location close to the Northumberland Coast AONB. Before entering the house and entering the open-plan living area, take advantage of the plentiful private parking. Head indoors to the handy front porch, where you can hang your coats and store your shoes, before reaching a welcoming living space, complete with wooden flooring throughout, quality furniture and a TV, a dining table that can extend to seat eight guests and a woodburning stove in the background, as well as a fully furnished kitchen where you can whip up delectable meals and keep on top of your laundry. The rear, sunny garden provides a nature-filled retreat with scenic vistas on your doorstep, perfect for dining alfresco on warmer evenings; and you can find some storage for your bikes and outdoor equipment there as well. Head upstairs to the second floor for some peace and quiet; it is home to a snug with TV and Xbox, which is also the perfect place for the kids in your group to call home. Choose from four elegant bedrooms, including a king-size with en-suite, a double, a single, and a twin on the second floor to catch some rest. There is a large bathroom in the house that serves all the bedrooms, and there are also two cloakrooms conveniently located throughout Woodlea. Woodlea is located along the National Cycle Route, ideal for outdoor enthusiasts, and Low Newton-by-the-Sea beach is also nearby for beachgoers, whilst Preston Tower, and Dunstanburgh Castle are within proximity for history buffs. Travel to Bamburgh for more sights, such as its golden shoreline, Bamburgh Castle Golf Club, which offers elevated sea views, and Bamburgh Castle, perfect for touring for a taste of history. For a town bursting with amenities, head to Alnwick, where you can tour the Bailiffgate Museum, wander along the River Aln, or simply grab a bite to eat at a nearby restaurant. Holy Island is accessible by boat, as is the National Trust property Lindisfarne Castle, recommended to add to your itinerary. Make Woodlea your home base to complete your trip by visiting the Northumberland National Park.

A bustling, pretty fishing village with an attractive harbour, situated on the beautiful Northumbrian coast in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Seahouses offers a variety of shops and a good selection of inns, pubs and eating places. Nearby are miles and miles of splendid sandy beaches and the opportunity to visit the bird sanctuary or seal colony on the famous Farne Islands with boat trips running daily from Seahouses, is not to be missed. There are numerous castles and great houses to explore, such as the magnificent castles at Bamburgh, Cragside, and Alnwick (home of the Duke of Northumberland), to mention just a few. Golf, fishing and riding are also available locally.
