Alnmouth
Arts, rafts and restaurants
An attractive seaside village bursting with personality situated between the River Aln and a golden sandy beach. Once a proud merchant port it’s now a peaceful haven with a wealth of restaurants, pubs and tea rooms along with an art gallery, gift shop, post office and village store. There is a mainline train station nearby (Kings Cross to Edinburgh) and regular bus service making it an ideal car free base.
Alnmouth’s stunning sandy beach is perfect for a family day out. You can just sit back and relax, have forty winks or indulge in an ice-cream from Gwen’s Ice Cream van. At low-tide, you can walk all the way along the coast to Boulmer and beyond, making it great for dog walking.
